I’m disappointed

M-Audio M-Track static and diry

My M-Track comes out very fuzzy, dirty, and with a lot of static. This is even the case when I plug headphones in to the headphone port on the console itself. My guitar rig sounds perfectly clean when put through an amplifier so I am wondering if there is something wrong with my interface. I run this on mac OS 10.14.4

    Hey Justin,

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with that! From your description, it sounds like there could be an issue with the converters. Let's take a look at a couple possible causes.

    1. When you are monitoring audio from your computer (turn the Monitor Mix fully to USB), is the sound quality still distorted?

    2. Do you have your Input set to Guitar or Line?

    3. Try using a different USB cable and port on your computer. Does the audio quality improve?

    4. Are you connecting to your computer through a USB hub or adapter?

If you try this and the distortion persists, it may be hardware related. Warranty and non-warranty claims cannot be handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service Inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the M-Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu. This will not require a support code.

    or

    • For faster support, call or email your nearest Support Office or International Distributor. Select your country to find the nearest office.

Make sure to reference or link to this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
