M-track 2x2 constant crackling when any audio is played back

I'm getting a constant crackling when any kind of audio is played back from the M-track 2x2... I've done everything that the website suggested.. turned down the master on the computer, made sure the knob isn't all the way at USB, latest drivers installed, tried different usb ports and still getting the crackling... Anyone got a fix??? running on Windows 10

  • Hey Joseph,

    Thanks for posting!

What software are you using to output audio? The symptom you've described sounds like you need to turn up the audio buffer in the software a bit to give your computer additional time to process the audio. If you're using audio production software, there should be an option to adjust the buffer setting in the software's audio preferences menu. If you are using the M-Track to play back system audio, you can use the M-Track's control panel (installs with the driver on Windows - on Mac, this is located in Audio MIDI Setup's Audio Devices menu).

Increase this setting incrementally until you find an optimal value that allows for normal playback. Increasing the buffer too much can result in undesirable effects such as introducing latency into your audio signal so finding the setting that will balance between these two situations is important.

I hope this helps you! Let me know if you have any questions.
    • I'm using Reason. I've actually already tried what you suggested and still nothing... My friend also has the M-track 2x2 and his works fine on my computer... Starting to think I just received a defective unit
