M-Track 2x2 cracks and pops in audio during playback with Windows 10

If I stream audio or play it from windows player or I'm in my DAW, I get these cracks and pops in audio all the time. I have tried everything to solve this problem including: reinstalling m-track drivers, changing computer ports, changing usb cables (c to a and c to c included in the box ), setting my usb/direct knob not all the way to usb, setting my windows audio to 80/50%, changing buffer sizes, bit depths. I have no idea what to do next to solve this problem. In addition my m-track works perfectly fine with my older laptop running windows 7. Problem doesn't appear with other audio interfaces with current laptop either.

    Hey Jan,

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble. What sample rate are you running the M-Track at? Can you provide me with your computer's processor and RAM?

The problem is most likely stemming from your system resources. Windows is a real-time operating system so if there are multiple task requests being sent to the processor the thread dispatcher will attempt to prioritize events.

This interruption can occur when running multiple applications or even if your computer is connected to WIFI. Often, the operating system will execute updates in the background causing other tasks to take less precedence.

I suggest using a program like LatencyMon which can analyze the efficiency of your computer's processing time. It will also show you how your system is prioritizing its events.

Give this a try and let me know how it goes!
