M-Track 2x2 Not picking up microphone sound

Using the M-Audio M-Track 2x2. I had originally just used it for outputs, my headphones and speakers. I got my second microphone today(thought it was the mic that was the problem at first), but can't get it to register any input. (On the hardware or the software). Plugged into line one, gain set to mid(tried higher and lower as well.) and phantom power enabled. Mix knob directly centered. Tried both full usb, and full direct as well. Still nothing. Using two different mic's. Still nothing. Could it be the XLR cable? It's still in perfect condition. The only time I get any singal at all in when I first turn on the 2x2, and I get Clip signal all the way down to nothing.

  • Hey Josh,

    Thanks for posting!

You've already performed some good troubleshooting steps but I would advise trying a few more things. Do try using a different XLR cable so you can rule out the connection between the microphone and the M-Track itself. I would also recommend connecting the M-Track to a different computer to help narrow it down. The more components you test with the M-Track, the easier it will be to determine what might be going on.

If you try the steps above and you're still having trouble getting a signal, this could be relative to the hardware. Warranty and non-warranty claims cannot be handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service Inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the M-Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu. This will not require a support code.

    • For faster support, call or email your nearest Support Office or International Distributor. Select your country to find the nearest office.

Make sure to reference or link to this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
