M-TRACK 2x2 XLR input left track only?

So I bought the M-Track 2x2 to connect my Rode Procaster XLR Mic to my computer.

However, when I plug in the mic the led meter only shows on the left side. And when I listen back to the device the mic is only playing out of the left earphone of my headphones.

Is there a way to get around this so the mic plays through both left and right?

I'm using the Microphone with OBS to live stream and I can't see any way to force it to mono on both L and R

  • Hi,

    Thanks for posting.

I believe that OBS will only accept a stereo input from an outside source which means that the first input from the M-track will always default to the left side, second input will default to right side. Please contact OBS to see if there is an option to select a mono source in their software, at which point you can select only the first, or left, input from the M-track. For example, how you may select the input for a mono track in your DAW like Ableton or Pro Tools.

Also, you can monitor the incoming signal in mono by turning off the monitoring from within OBS (ask them how to do this) and turning your Monitor Mix knob to the center. You will hear even playback from the direct input (your microphone) and any software playback, like music.

    I hope this helps!
