M-Track 8 Ramdom eco mode whilst in use!

Hi Guys. Is anyone having trouble with their M-Track8 switching randomly into eco mode whilst in use and with audio passing through it at the time? I've updated drivers and uninstalled/reinstalled several times but it just keeps happening!
I'm using it with Cubase 7 Essentials and AMD quad core 3.8 Based pc.Previously used a Behringer FC610 and had no problems with that.

  • Hi Mike,

    Thanks for posting.

The first thing that comes to mind is your Windows install is disabling or changing USB port priorities, likely for energy saver features.

I don't know what version of Windows you have, but here's the Win7/8 instructions for disable "USB Selective Suspend":

You'll want to check for any additional 3rd party software that may also be applying power or resource management for your USB devices.

Disconnect any other USB devices and USB hubs as well and re-test to isolate potential conflicts as well.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Dan,
    Thanks for the coms.
In answer to your question I'm running Win 8.1 64 bit.
Switching off USB hub power management has helped and things are a lot smoother.
However It still happens in fits and starts.
I decided to monitor the Task Manager Process Screen whilst it was happening today (Hasn't happened for weeks) and noted that whilst the M-Track8 Audio Device Monitor process remains steady and present, the M-Track8 Driver interface keeps dropping out.
Could this be a driver problem? I'm using Issue 1.0.1.1 Released for use in January this year.
Also, despite stipulating a 64 bit OS on the download page and the Install software splash page saying I was installing 64 bit, both programs are listed in task manager as 32 bit. Could this contribute do you think?
If I can't get to the bottom of this soon I think i'm going to have to return the unit.
    • Hi Mike,

Very sorry, I did not see this reply!

There is the potential it is more hardware related. We could get a better idea by testing with another DAW software, or even better, another computer. Swapping the USB cable would be good too; often it is those simple things that give the symptoms that happen randomly.

In the case it did seem hardware related, you could contact the tech support team to see what service options are available. I'd hate to assume it's software as I really haven't seen Windows 7 or 8 specific issues with the M-Track Eight, so maybe this is the best solution. Here are the support contacts:
