M-Track Eight in iMac Catalina & Cubase Elements 10.5 - no signal in?

Last August I bought M-Track Eight and I installed Cubase Elements 10.5. Since then I updated my iMac to Catalina and I don't get any sound in anymore. I have older version of Cubase LE 9.5 and that used to work. Now I get no sound in, but signal comes out normally with M-Track. Can someone help?

    Hey Nappi Aaltonen,

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble! The M-Track Eight is class compliant so it should be able to operate off of your Mac's core audio drivers. From your description, this issue sounds related to Cubase. Steinberg released compatibility information with macOS Catalina at the following site:

Steinberg - macOS Catalina product compatibility

According to this page, Cubase 9.5 is not supported for use on 10.15. My advice would be to test the M-Track with a compatible DAW to see if you receive the incoming signal.

Let me know if you have any questions!

  • Hi, thanks for reply. I updated eLicenser and run the normal tasks with that, but no change. It seems that I cannot get any signal into Garage Band either. I think everything was ok before Catalina update. As an old Windows user, I'm used to run all updates at once - in iMac also. From now on I have to check updates first!
