M-Track first gen on Yosemite?

I recently bought a used M-Track (first gen) to be able to use my studio monitor when I do video editing. I'm on the latest Mac OSX and it seems the interface does not work. The device shows up in the Sound parameters, but I can't control volume when it's on and there's nothing coming out of the 1/4 output. I get weak and very distorted sound from the phones output. Is it simply not compatible with Yosemite, or am I doing something wrong? Thank you!

  • Hi,

    Thanks for posting!

The M-Track is class compliant and is supported for use on Yosemite. I would make sure that you have adjusted the monitor mix knob (all the way to USB is fine if you're just listening back from the computer), tried different USB cables/ports and tested with a different computer.

Are your USB ports 2.0 or 3.0?

What software have you tested the playback with?

Any other info you can provide?

Let me know and we'll sort this out!

  • Hey there, thanks for the reply.

I've tried with two different cables, tried on another computer, using iTunes and Premiere Pro, and I'm getting the same response either way : no sound coming from the main outputs, and a low, distorted sound from the phones output. I've tried turning the knob all the way to USB : sound from the phones output gets slightly cleaner, but there's nothing coming out from the main outputs.

Also, something that looks weird : whenever I plug the device in, the VU meter goes all the way to the 0dB, with the red light turned on... Even though there isn't anything plugged in the inputs.

I'm getting the feeling the interface is simply damaged?
