I’m frustrated

M Track Plus forces Pro Tools to Quit.....

I have an M track plus, basically every time I start recording Pro Tools makes me quit and relaunch PT. The message is Pro Tools Can Not Communicate with M Track Plus, Please quit Pro Tools, reconnect M track plus and relaunch pro tools.

It also happens more often when an input is at a higher gain, or phones level is higher. It's making it pretty impossible to record anything.

I've had nothing but issues with M Audio interfaces as an "easy" outside the studio portable recording set up. My last one had issues as well, pretty disappointed.

Drivers are all up to date. It recognizes the m track in my devices list....Pro Tools works fine when not connected to M Track.

it used to work with the volume at lower levels, although it now basically always prompts the quit and reconnect every time I start recording.

The input volume pots quickly jump when it gets to around 90% as well, a problem i had with my last M Track Plus as well... which also triggers the unable to communicate with pro tools/quit pop up.

I'm "using" M Track Plus with Pro Tools 12 on Mac Os X 10.12.1

Any help would be appreciated.

    Sorry you are having trouble with that.

    This appears to be a problem with the hardware. Likely the M-Track is sucking too much power from the system when you crank the gain. The preamps allow for a large variety of signals, so you will notice that the gain will need to be turned up high depending on the mic/source, but 90% is excessive.

    Warranty and non-warranty claims cannot be handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service Inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the M-Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu. This will not require a support code.

    or

    • For faster support, call or email your nearest Support Office or International Distributor. Select your country to find the nearest office.
