I’m frustrated

M Track R Channel Output is Very Quiet (but fine in headphones)

I'm using an M-Track with OSX 10.9.5

When I set up the M-Track as my preferred playback device the Right channel is very quiet, but I can hear it clearly through the headphone jack.

This is the same for Logic and when using iTunes.

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting!

If it sounds ok in your headphones, than there is something going on with your speaker connection.

What model speakers are you using? What cables are you using to connect them to the left and right outputs? Any adapters?

Normally, you should simply be using two TRS cables: one from the left output to the left speaker and one from the right output to the right speaker. If this is how you have it set up, try swapping cables and see if the issue switches sides.

If not, try swapping the left and right speakers and see if the issue switches sides.

Let me know how this goes!

I'm using standard TRS cables without any adaptors. I've tried switching the cables over and using different kinds of cables.

Normally I use Rokit R5s but today I'm using a pair of speakers called SubZero. However, I've had exactly the same problem with both pairs of speakers.

    I've tried swapping everything over.

However I can get sound out of both speakers if I go in through the unbalanced connection...

If you go in through the unbalanced connections on the speakers? What kind of cables are you using for that, like a TS to RCA?

I could be wrong and the outputs on the M-Track could just be TS, but I'd have to check. If it works with an unbalanced input than it sounds like that may be the case and the M-Track is working fine.
