midisport 8x8/s no smpte in windows 7 / 10

Hello, I tried to install the midisport 8x8/s to windows 7/64bit and 10/64bit, but I can't see the SMPTE in and out. Tested with driver 6.1.2 and 6.1.3 - Is there a solution for it ?

  • Hey Dterwsghc,

    Thanks for posting!

The MIDISPORT 8x8/s is a legacy product with limited available support. The SMPTE functions of this interface can be configured with the control panel application that installs with the driver and written with the controls on the interface.

What software are you using with the MIDISPORT? I would recommend trying to monitor the steam of data with this software, MIDI-OX.

Hello, thanks for your answer. I know, this product is not the newest, and I can configure the SMPTE functions with the controll panel in WINDOWS XP 32 bit. It is not possible to do this on Win7/10 64 bit. I have a virtual box running with XP, so I can use the control panel.

    BUT:
I am missing the SMPTE in and out by the driver!

If I connect the interface to Win XP I have
8x Midi In, 8x Midi Out,
    1x SMPTE-IN, 1x SMPTE-Out
    (with e.g. MIDI-OK)
Timecode is arriving, when the interface is writing/recieving timecode
    in MIDI-OK

If I connect the interface to Win 7/10 64bit I have
8x Midi In, 8x Midi Out,
    but there's no SMPTE-IN, no SMPTE-Out ! (with e.g. MIDI-OK)

No Timecode is arriving, when the interface is writing/recieving timecode!
in MIDI-OK, Tracks Live (Waves), Sonar.....

    Thanks for your help.

PS: The "Control Panel" only installs with an old XP-Driver, version 6.1.2. and 6.1.3. does not install a control panel.
