Mini 32 Trigger pad Ableton remote mapping

I have an Ableton track with a number of clips- each sends a program change to an external synth. Works fine. Now I want to trigger each clip from my mini 32 pads using remote mapping. The pads send a note message and if I assign the pad to start a clip (and send a program change to my synth), a note is played.

1. Can the pads send a control change instead of a note?
2. How can I "mute" the note in Live so that it is not heard?
3. Is there a better way I can accomplish this?

I want to be able to use the mini 32 to change my synth settings during live performances, easily.

  • Hey Dave,

    Thanks for posting!

The pads only send MIDI Note data. If you want to send a Program Change message you will need to use the advanced functions from the keys. PC messages will tell the external hardware to change presets according the the value sent. To send a Program Change message using the numerical keys:

    1. Press the Edit button. It will illuminate to full-brightness.

    2. Press the Program Change key.

    3. Use the numerical keys (0–9) to enter the desired program number.

    4. Press the Enter key. The Edit button will return to half-brightness, indicating that you have selected a new Program (and that your Axiom is no longer in Edit Mode).

    5. Press both "+" and "–" simultaneously to return to the default program "0."

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Eliza. I understand your reply. But that's not what I'm looking for- looks like I need to get a new controller.

  • I think you really do need to get new one. I've had that problem and I had to replace everything. Now that I replaced it, I have a little more free time, so I can play some games here https://大吉カジノ.jp/ . I really like playing games in my native language.
