MKII sudden latency issue

Last night eveything was running just fine and, this morning, when I woke up, the m track audios started having a severe latency problem. It's not just when using DAWs, everything that goes throgh that sound card lags.

I'm using a M-Audio M-Track II on a Windows 8.1 (64 bits)... It's the second computer I use this intarface with and the fisrt time I have a problem like this one.

Hellp please?

  • Hi Antonio,

    Thanks for posting!

Do you have the same problem with your other computer?

The first thing you should do is simplify your connection with the PC. Try different USB cables and ports. Avoid using any USB hubs or 3.0 ports. Even disconnect other USB devices to see if anything improves.

Next, try reinstalling the latest driver:

    M-Track MKII - Windows 7/8/10 Driver

In a lot of cases, especially for Windows, latency can be caused by just scheduled system updates or your system is doing something in the background that you're not aware of. An easy way to test this is to just turn off your WIFI or unplug your computer's internet connection and see if the latency improves. This should cutoff your system for checking for updates or things like that.

Also keep in mind, if your computer was not shut down and was only put to sleep, that can make USB devices act strange when it starts up again. USB peripherals don't often perform very well after waking the computer up from sleep. I recommend to at least restart the computer before doing any audio work after your computer has been asleep.

Let me know how this goes!

  • I am having this issue also and tried everything listed above without any luck. I tried three Daws: Reaper, Presonus Studio One and Sonar X3. All have the same issue. Everything plays on my computer gets a 2-3 seconds dealy. Is there any other solution I am not aware of?
