New Code 49 not working on Logic pro X

Code 49 not working properly with logic pro x.

I have a 15" retina macbook pro with yosemite 10.10.5. When i connect code 49 to mac, it plays perfectly but after few mins suddenly disconnects with the DAW. The keyboard and the backlights stays on but shows no input.

Is anything wrong with mac or the Keyboard or is it just a driver ?

Same problem here. Same Computer (Logic 10.1.1).

Also the instruction on this page don't seem to work and are a bit outdated:

    • I just switched to another cable that was laying around (came with my USB Microphone - there's nothing special about it).

I really don't think the cable is the issue. I switched my cable and all was good, but I still have the occasional drop out—just not as much since 1) Changing to preset 08 2) switching cables (if that really did anything).
    • yea i purchased another usb cable haven't had any issues since I switched the cable I'm using ableton live and preset 1 all the mackie control stuff is working still trying to figure out how to setup all the keyboard commands....wish they had deep tutorials for such a complex board

Iffy USB port on your book, or Iffy cable. or If it's a hub, try getting rid of it and see if the problem get's better.

I know it sounds simple, but try swapping them about, I have had issues before, and this has been the solution. We do all forget from time to time.

  • I’m extremely frustrated with M-audio
Just got my Code 25 yesterday and same as above instead i've tried both Ableton Live and Logic Pro X and I get the same plays fine for a few minutes then disconnects from the DAW I've tried both ports on Macbook Retina same result i've tried the included USB cable and another cable (picture included) just like it same result and I've even returned the keyboard once already thinking something was wrong with it another new keyboard same result. I'm 100% sure it's not my macbook retina because I've tried it on my iMac as well same result

Going to try to purchase a different type of USB 2.0 cable, just wondering why M-audio would send out new keyboards with faulty cables this seems to be a wide spread issue

  • I have a problem. My new controller M-Audio Code 49 is connected to the MacBook Pro (Intel Core i7 2.9 GHz, 8GB RAM, external card MOTU Audio Express) USB cable. Logic Pro 10.2 and the keyboard controller has been configured according to the manufacturer http://www.m-audio.com/kb/article/1868 Everything works smoothly, sliders and knobs control the DAW controller, etc. but after a while when you play the keyboard stops working (but all the lights and display are illuminated and a final chord hangs down). Tapping into Mac`s space interrupts this incident but the keyboard does not speak (it's not on the entry into Logicu). After you reboot the controller you can hear one long tone from the last sound on which I played. Then again space and the game went on. I replaced the USB cable but it didn`t help. The same situation occurs when changing Machui to MIDI. I want to use this keyboard on the stage during the concert but at the moment it's impossible. Is that a problem with soft M-Audio? What should I do?

  • Hi guys,

As has been mentioned, this is likely just a problem with the USB cable. Please try switching out the USB cable.
