No midi signal from m-audio oxygen 61 when connected to ipad mini

I am having a m-audio oxygen 61 trying to connect with ipad mini through the standard camera lightning connector for IOS.

When the keyboard was connected to the ipad, signal came to the keyboard as indicated by the LEDs, but when an application was opened like sample tank, no signal was going to the ipad from the keyboard as no sound was coming when keyboard was played but sound was coming when playing with the ipad touch pad.

Kindly give some suggestions to overcome this issue.

  • Hey Anirban Roy,

    Thanks for posting!

When you connect the Oxygen to a computer, is the controller transmitting MIDI signal? If you do not have a DAW to try the unit with, use MIDI monitor to test:

For testing MIDI devices on PC:
    Download MIDI-OX

This video will get you set up quickly for MIDI input monitoring in MIDI-OX:
    Monitoring MIDI Input with MIDI-OX

For testing MIDI devices on Mac:
    Download snoize: MIDI Monitor

If you are able to determine that the keyboard is functioning properly, than I would suggest confirming that your MIDI I/O is setup correctly. I'm not familiar with Sample Tank so I cannot provide specific instructions but there should be a preferences window that allows you to select a MIDI control surface for the software to receive messages from.

Try this and let me know how it goes!
