I’m Perplexed

No Signal from Nova Black Mic on Logic Pro X

I can't seem to get a signal out of my M-Audio Nova Black Condenser Mic. I got it in the pac with the M-Track 2x2 and everything else works, just not the mic. I've tried other XLR cables as well as other mics and it just won't work. Am I not using the right cable for this mic or what AM I doing wrong? I'm using Logic Pro x

    Hey Richard,

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with that! The Nova, like most condenser mics, requires an additional 48 Volt boost to raise the signal to line level. You want to make sure that you are engaging Phantom Power for your mic input on the M-Track. Otherwise, the signal will be too weak to monitor. You may use an XLR or XLR to TRS cable to connect the Nova as the M-Track has combo inputs.

If you try this and are still not receiving signal, it may be hardware related. Warranty and non-warranty claims cannot be handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service Inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the M-Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu. This will not require a support code.

    or

    • For faster support, call or email your nearest Support Office or International Distributor. Select your country to find the nearest office.

Make sure to reference or link to this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
