Code 61 - One key occasionally does not work.

Love my new Code61. Though, I do have one key (C) that works only 90% of the time. On occasions, when pressed, it does not respond to an instrument sound. I've updated my firmware. Using MacOS, and LogicProX. Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Stephen,

Sorry you are having trouble with that!

Does this happen consistently with any instrument or sound in particular? or is it entirely random?

Is there anything you need to do to resolve the problem when it begins?

When it stops working, does Logic still display the incoming note up in the monitor in the transport bar?

Basically, you'll want to test this with different software, different USB cables and ports and make sure that it's consistent with the keyboard. You can also try a factory reset to relieve any odd settings or stuck data:

Hold down the + and - Pad Octave buttons while powering on. The screen will read "Reset" for a second

If you are still having trouble, your keyboard may need to be serviced. Warranty and non-warranty claims are not handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction. Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service Inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the M-Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu. This will not require a support code.

    or

    • For faster support, call or email your nearest Support Office or International Distributor. Select your country to find the nearest office.

Make sure to reference or link this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know how it goes!

  • Hello, Corey,

I believe the "Reset" fixed the problem. Thank you for taking the time to listen and make suggestions.
