Oxygen 61 Making Multiple Sounds With One Key

So I just bought my first MIDI, the Oxygen 61, and I'm learning the Ableton DAW but every time I assign an instrument to the MIDI it makes both the factory preset sound on the key I hit /as well/ as the instrument I've selected. I've been messing around with channel assignment for two days but it won't stop.

I'm wondering if I'm missing something obvious or if this is a fault with the product, I've read quite a few other people having the problem but no solutions?

  • Hey Noah,

Sorry you are having trouble with that! This sounds like it may be hardware related. Warranty and non-warranty claims cannot be handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service Inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the M-Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu. This will not require a support code.

    or

    • For faster support, call or email your nearest Support Office or International Distributor. Select your country to find the nearest office.

Make sure to reference or link to this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • Good evening me Nick my axiom 61 mkIII is acting weird. whenever I love a fader or a knob or hit a drum pad it plays notes on Mainstage 3. I tried assigning different midi Channels for each one but it didn’t help. I want to be able to control parameters with each knob, fader , drum pads

    • good evening mr nick D. so I figured out how to fix the problem. I was using a midi cable (not the usb cable that comes with) but a 5 pin in and out cable and by coincidence I decided to connect the usb power cable that comes with the Axiom and saw that it transmits correctly.

thank you for your time , It is very much appreciated
    • Happy to hear you were able to find a resolution! Enjoy :)
