Oxygen49 IV with Cubase 8.5

Hi, I can't assign knobs & faders of my Oxygen49 IV with Cubase Pro 8.5. I tried with Directlink, but automaping doesn't work as it seems outdated.
Please help.

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting!

Please make sure that you are following this guide to install the Directlink:

Oxygen MKIV - Installing the Cubase Directlink

I guarantee this will work, even with Cubase 8.5, as long as you are putting the file in the correct place. For example, for 64-bit Cubase 8.5 the directlink file will need to go in this folder:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\Cubase 8.5\Components

Then, just follow the rest of the guide to load and assign the map and press the AUTO or MAP button on your Oxygen to turn on the Directlink. And that's it!

Let me know how this goes!

  • Thanks for your reply.
I followed the guide, now my Oxygen49 is detected correctly and I can use some of its functions, like play / stop / cycle.

But I can't assign knobs with the midi learn from various synths (Halion Sonic SE, Sylenth1, Groove Agent SE4) although it works with some other synths like Spire or Serum.

Is it a problem from Cubase ?
    Thanks again.

  • I have an Oxygen 61 NEW - black, and my Cubase 8.5 is on another drive, not on the default C:\ drive. I am not getting it to work whatsoever, and have put the files inside the component folder on my Steinberg drive.

    Thank you

      Hi,

You'll have to contact Steinberg about this. I can't guarantee that this will work if you have a personalized Cubase installation. I'm not sure if it would have just placed a components folder in a different location, or if it would read the one installed on your second drive.

As long as the directlink file is unzipped correctly and placed in the correct components folder, the Oxygen will appear as an option in your device setup. If it doesn't do that, you'll want to contact Steinberg to make sure everything is running correctly.

All I can recommend here is to unzip the file again, replace it in your components folder and go through all of the instructions again to make sure you haven't missed a step before contacting Steinberg.

Let me know if you have any questions.
