Problem with M-audio Prokeys 88!!

I have a M-audio ProKeys88 premium piano. I want to use it with ableton 9 with it but I cant get ableton to register the midi keyboard. I believe I have tryed to do everything. I've made sure I have the latest drivers for the Piano, and in ableton options>preferences>MIDI sync, It registers the keyboard as USB2.0 MIDI and I have the track turned on.

I just cant get this to work, please help.

  • Hi David,

    Thanks for posting.

What exactly are you doing in Ableton Live to use the Prokeys? Are you adding a virtual instrument? If so, what?

Are you on Mac or PC? Which OS version?

Try testing with a free MIDI monitoring app rather than Live. Here are a couple free ones:

    Windows: MIDI-OX

Open MIDI-OX with all other programs closed. In the Options>MIDI Devices section, select your controller ports from the MIDI Input menu. Click OK.
Now MIDI-OX will simply list all incoming MIDI messages. This will help confirm if the controller itself is responding properly.

    Mac: MIDI Monitor

Open MIDI Monitor with all other programs closed. In the "Sources" section, check the boxes for your controller's ports.
Now MIDI Monitor will list all incoming MIDI Messages. This will help confirm if the controller itself is responding properly.

  • I have an MAudio ProKeys Sono 88. The red power light is flashing and there is no sound when I press the keys - either through head phones or amp.
I have tried different electrical outlets in the house, and changed the settings on the power adapter. Nothing is working..Help....
