Solved: Fast Track Pro for WIN 10

Hi,

this is a plan for using Fast Track Pro in WIN 10 without the 'daily' support of avid.
Once I've had to uninstall Fast Track Pro caused by accident of 'to fast importing files in Cubase'. Anyway, I was anable to install the Fast Track Pro (Runtime Error in C++ 2005 Libraries).

Solution: Click with the right button on the driver and choose ~ Compatibility Issues an run the process. I was successful to start with an older driver 6_0_7 and later with the newest 6.1.11 for PC http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en...
It's working and I have also access to the Fast Track Pro Panel. But it is also available with click on the listed 'Fast Track Pro' in system controls.

Best, Emil

  • YES! This worked great for me! I just installed Win 10 and suddenly... no audio! I tried the steps here and it works perfectly.

I only installed the drivers a minute ago, so I have no idea if the system will start crashing or not - fingers crossed that it won't - but I'll report back if I start having problems!

  • To be clear on the steps on Windows 10:
    - If your drivers are already installed, uninstall them.
    - Turn off your Fast Track Pro.
    - Connect it via USB.
    - Run the installer using "recommended" compatibility settings (running test mode will do), while the device is turned off. This will ensure that the newest firmware is uploaded once you turn it on after the driver installation.
    - Turn on your Fast Track Pro after installation has finished. Have firmware installed by the panel.
    - Turn it off and on again.
    This worked for me.

  • Thank you so much, I was about to order a new USB preamp because my M-Audio MobilePre ( or audiophile im sure they're the same thing ) wouldn't install on windows 10 I had tried so many drivers and I previously had it working on another windows 10 install making it even more frustrating but yeah, this worked first time, thank you you god.

  • Hi,
can you confirm which drivers to use for windows 10?
I've tried the installer for 6.1.11 and it doesn't seem to work with Ingo's method. There's no option for running the installer using "recommended" compatibility, it just has the option to install.
Also I can't find the option for 'compatibility issues' on the drivers.

Strangely it's only been an issue today, yesterday when I installed the drivers for the first time everything was working fine.

Pleased to see that this is working for some people! I've just installed windows 10 brand new for the first time so I hope that isn't the issue..
    Thanks

    Hello,

I have the latest FastTrackPro driver installed on my Windows10.
Once a week my PC freezes and I see the blue screen of death. The cause for the crash is the Fast Track Pro driver.

I know inMusic didn't buy this particular product and Avid has the rights and so.. But inMusic sells a lot of M-Audio Products, with updated stable drivers, correct?

Many people are saying that they won't buy M-Audio products again (me included) because of this driver support problems in Windows 10. This situation in negative for the M-Audio brand and it directly affects ALL inMusic M-Audio products.

Now my question is this: Is it so difficult to make a new stable driver for this audio interface for Windows 10? Please tell me... Will it cost a huge fortune? Can't you use one or two of your programmers for 2 or 3 days to code a new stable driver version? Will you go bankrupt because of it? Will Avid sue you if you do this and
make it available for download on the M-Audio website?

I believe that this would be a positive move for you as a company and for the M-Audio brand... If you really think about it, you will agree with me I guess.

Hope that NickD or someone from inMusic will read this and write a response. And please, do not tell me that inMusic didn't buy these set of products and Avid is the company to contact for support and so... Avid won't do anything, M-Audio is dead for them... Now, is it dead for you too? It sure looks so.

    Thank you, Paulo

  • I couldn't find the "recommended compatibility options" either, and when I set the compatibility from properties, the soundcard doesn't seem to work properly: it plays music for half a minute, then it stops working.

  • Dear manufacturers! Let me join Paolo’s request. I already have an internal M-Audio sound card, for the sake of the sound of which I hold a separate computer with Windows XP, since it does not work under Windows 7. But this is inconvenient.

I plan to buy this one (Fast Track), but year later will have to switch to Windows 10, and I would like to stay with its great sound. Please add support for it!

  • I’m pissed off
Ive tried multiple times to get the drivers to work, but now seems I just have a useless box. Wont be using M audio products again since they cant guarantee that their products wont be obsolete after a few years. whole ordeal has been frustrating to say the least.
