Squeak m-audio uber mic

m-audio uber mic. When any program calls the microphone, a squeak appears.
The squeak is very audible when the sensitivity level on the microphone is at a minimum. If you increase the sensitivity on the microphone, then the squeak is almost inaudible, but the microphone captures the surrounding sounds, which is not correct for recording.
I tried on different operating systems windows (8.1, 10). The problem is observed on all operating systems.
I bought a microphone today, maybe it's a marriage?
Or incorrectly written drivers?

  • Hey. I have same problem.
The noise exactly on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and kHz. Sounds like moscito noise. Other time when no program is calling to mic recording everything is ok. You can see light horizontal lines, this is the noise. Any suggestions?

  • Hey Ivan and Кирилл Жовнер,

    Thanks for posting!

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with that. From your descriptions, it sounds like you may both be experiencing USB noise. This can happen when the USB terminal of your computer shares a bus with either internal components or other peripherals.

There are a few things that I suggest trying:

    • Test the Uber Mic with a different USB cable, preferably with a Ferrite bead. These cables have a dedicated sleeve for noise suppression.

    • Remove any additional USB devices from your computer to see if the noise is reduced.

    • Try using the Uber with a powered USB hub.

Try this and let me know how it goes!
