I’m frustrated

Staticy and indecipherable audio from headphones.

So I just got the M-Audio 2x2 and I set it up but, whenever I play something like a YouTube video the audio is staticy. I can barely understand a word from the video. I am using really, really cheap headphones but, I'm concerned if it's the audio interface/Windows 10 making this problem. Anyone else experiencing this?

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry you're having some trouble with that! Cheap or not, unless your headphones are broken in some way, they should not be introducing static into the audio signal. It sounds to me like you might need to adjust your M-Track's Preferred Buffer Size value in the M-Track's control panel application. The control panel installs along with the driver and can be easily found by searching your computer for 'M-Track 2X2':

Since you are hearing static and the audio is difficult to make out, I would recommend increasing the buffer value a bit. A higher buffer value will allow your computer more resources to process audio and will improve playback. Try increasing the buffer value incrementally until you hear an improvement in the sound quality. Increasing buffer value too much can introduce latency (a delay) so an ideal buffer setting will be high enough for clear audio playback but not so high that you experience latency.

I'm confident that adjusting the buffer will improve audio playback but this knowledge base article will provide more detail for troubleshooting distortion in your audio signal:

    I hope that helps you!
