Hi
A couple of Newbie Questions (sorry!) :-
A.Can i set up Oxygen 49 Gen 4 to work the transport controls on Ipad version of Garageband ?
B.Again on connecting the Oxygen 49 to a Ipad synth such as Synth One, when i use midi learn to map the Oxygen faders and dials to parameters in the synth can i save this set up on the Oxygen ( is this a "snapshot"?)
Any help gratefully received !!

Hey midiman1962,
Thanks for posting!
The Oxygen's Transport controls send MMC (MIDI Machine Control) messages which is compatible with Garageband. I'm not familiar with the iOS version of Garageband but the software version doesn't have a native MIDI Learn function to assign parameters. With the assistance of third-party software, like GarageRemote, you can assign these functions to your hardware. There may be an equivalent program for the iOS version of Garageband.
Any MIDI maps created in the application should be saved with your project or as a template. When you MIDI map, the MIDI values that the Oxygen is sending aren't effected. Instead, the software is creating a database of linked commands. For instance, when the controller sends MIDI CC 33 the software will reference what parameter MIDI CC 33 is assigned to and then execute that command.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions. -
