Can't Figure Out How To Connect The TFP To My MAC High Sierra v. 10.13.2 , the Arsenal v. 1.0.84 or how to connect to the Logic Pro X v. 10.2.4

i have watched a few videos on YT to figure out how to set up and connect the MIDI TFP and it started working for a brief min... but then shut down on me as in not connecting to both the arsenal or the Logic Pro X.. if there is anyway possible to help me begin my production process again... I'm all ears

  • Hey AudioBully,

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry you're having some trouble with that! The Trigger Finger Pro is a class compliant controller so it will use the Core MIDI drivers that are already on your computer in order to connect. Because the TFP is class compliant, there are no additional drivers that are available to download. These knowledge base articles will help you troubleshoot the TFP's connection:

You can verify that the TFP is sending MIDI data to your computer with MIDI monitoring software. A MIDI monitor will show you all the incoming data from any MIDI controllers or MIDI interfaces that you have connected to your computer.

For testing MIDI devices on PC:
    Download MIDI-OX

This video will get you set up quickly for MIDI input monitoring in MIDI-OX:

For testing MIDI devices on Mac:
    Download snoize: MIDI Monitor

Select the TFP as a MIDI input source in the monitor and send some data with its pads and controllers. If you see data appear in the input monitor window, the controller is sending MIDI data to your computer and will only need to be configured for MIDI input in the software you're using.

If the controller did work before, it sounds like there is simply a setting that still needs to be configured. Since you are using Logic with Arsenal, try pushing in the upper right most knob and selecting Preset 04: Logc&Arsenal then pressing the Load button under the display to get started.

    I hope that helps you!
