Twin Key Station 32s

Hello,

I have a question

I have twin Key Station Mini 32 keyboards. I would like to know if it would be possible to connect them both to the same computer. (I’d like to play one on each hand octaves apart) is it possible, if so, how would I go about doing this? I’ve already tried connecting them but it seems the computer is seeing them as just one keyboard. Is there a way around this? (Sorry, I got it wrong both keyboards are, in fact, appearing in Midi Devices in my D.A.W. (Cakewalk by Bandlab) and each one works fine separately, but when both boxes are checked a window appears saying "device already in use" or words to that effect. As both keyboards are listed, I presume the problem is with the D.A.W.? Any advice would be great.

Thanks in advance
Rob.

    Hey Rob,

    Thanks for posting!

You can use both Keystations with your computer. If you would like to use both for the same instrument, then change the octave range of one of the controllers. This will expand your playable range to 64 keys.

Alternatively, you can control separate instruments by changing the MIDI Channels that each Keystation transmits on. For example, set one unit to send data on MIDI Channel 1 and the other on MIDI Channel 2. In your DAW, assign your plugins to receive on either MIDI Channel 1 or 2.

Let me know if you have any questions!

  • Thanks Eliza,

I must be doing something wrong.

I cannot get the D.A.W. to recognise the second keyboard. When I check/tick the boxes to enable both keyboards in “Choose MIDI Devices” This window appears and a code 10 error is generated in “device manager” Is it a driver conflict? I presume both keyboards have identical drivers.
