Use iPhone and M Track 2x2 to drive studio monitors

I want to connect my iPhone to the M Track to drive studio monitors. Not sure if I should connect it to the line level inputs or USB input. I understand the USB input is typically used for computer connection

  • Hey Philip,

    Thanks for posting!

The M-Track 2X2 is intended for use with a computer. It is not supported on the iOS as a USB interface. Monitoring your phone via the M-Track will also be difficult. This is because the signal output from your phone is not line or instrument level. You would need an Aux input for proper routing.

Some people work around this by connecting a 1/8" to 1/4" TRS cable to their interface but the audio quality is likely to be poor. You're better off connecting the phone directly to your monitors if there is an Aux port or streaming audio from your computer instead.

Let me know if you have any questions!
