first of all i think that the new Magic is very good. i love the advice it give.
Bugs
i have to keep uninstalling and reintalling when i boot pc ( this is magic and magic alpha)

seem to slow down after about 10 - 15 minutes play, as if if it carnt keep up with the next hand...

on small blinds it says check... should be call or fold

Thanks for your response.

We are aware of these bugs and we will be doing frequent updates to the Alpha version that will hopefully address the issues quickly.
We will fix the "check on small blind" on our next update and hopefully the slowdown as well.

About your uninstall-reinstall problem, Why do you have to keep doing that? Is it because MagicHoldem doesn't start on reboot? If so, Please let us know so we can fix it. Also know that you can start MagicHoldem from your "Programs Menu".

Hello,

I also have this problem.

The program starts but the calculator will not start when opening a table

It occurs in the old version and the new Alpha. Only after you reinstall the program runs again.

Thanks for your comment.

MagicHoldem Alpha currently don't automatically run after rebooting, we are working to fix it on our upcoming version update, in the meantime, after rebooting i suggest running MagicHoldem through the "Programs Menu". This should fix the problem, You don't have to uninstall and reinstall.

Regarding the CPU Utilization, we are aware of an issue after using the calculator for 10-15 minutes, We are expecting to fix this soon. Temporary solution is to restart the calculator.

Hello,

thank you first for the new version. The design looks already very good.

But unfortunately there are still problems ittle:

- For each "raise" the program will crash

- The program only reads very slowly and many hands are not at first recognized

- The other window with the "outs" and "you vs. best" are not displayed

- After some time, the program has more than 50% CPU utilization and the computer must be restarted

- For each "raise" the program will crash - Can you please send us Reading Diagnostics to support@magicholdem.com? To get your reading diagnostics simply Right Click on the lamp icon -> Help -> Get Reading Diagnostics

- The other window with the "outs" and "you vs. best" are not displayed - This alpha release is yet to support all features, will be added in the future.

I too am having problems with Magic Alpha.

With PokerStars it runs automatically about 95% of the time but only picks up my cards about 40%. Sometimes closing it and starting it manually fixes this but often doesn't. For all of these attempts I leave it 3 or 4 hands to give it a chance. When I get moved to a new table it has never picked up the hands. This morning it auto started but did not pick up the hands. I restarted it manually and that did not work and it became unresponsive (in the Windows sense, message in the title-bar) so I closed it and it took PokerStars down with it. When this happened I noticed the run diagnostics option on the Help Menu so I ran that. It seemed to run but the '.zip' file did not appear on the desktop.

With PartyPoker it has never auto started so I have to start it manually. It has never worked though. It does not attach to the table window nor does it pick up the hands.

I have just seen Dave's comment about running as Administrator so I am going to give that a go. If that doesn't work I shall have to uninstall it, which is a shame since, when it works, I like it.

Just for your info I am on Win 7 x64.

Whatever the outcome from the Administrator trial, I will let you know.

Sometimes the diagnostics process takes up to a few minutes, and that's might be the reason why it didn't appear on your desktop. We need your diagnostics in order to get better insight, can you try and run it again?
There is another way you can get your diagnostics, from your AppData folder. simply enter in your Address Bar : %LOCALAPPDATA%\MagicHoldemAlpha.
you will now see "Logs" folder, please add this folder to a .zip or a .rar archive and send it to support@magicholdem.com.

I always have to re-install magic and alpha when i start my PC up to get them to work...
I have had times when alpha just vanishes then when i restart it or re-install it 888 locks up and i have to crtl, alt,del to task manager and close manual...
But alpha and normal magic are not working at all at the moment since 888 updated the software.

We are aware of an issue with Alpha version caused after PC coming back from hibernation/sleep and this issue is fixed for our next version update which is expected by the end of next week.
Workaround for this issue will be to simply close the poker room, close the calculator, open the calculator and then open the poker room. There is no need to re-install every time the computer stars.

Please make sure you are only running 1 calculator at a time, running both MagicHoldem & Alpha can cause issues, we suggest running only MagicHoldem Alpha.

  • 888 Software Update - Fixed the reading problem created by 888 client update.

  • Improved preflop strategy - We have significantly improved our preflop strategy & recommendations

  • iPoker network updates - We have updated our reader for all iPoker cardrooms


Your client should automatically update to the latest version. If it doesn't, download the full release from our download page

carnt get it to work on 888 sorry
when i started my comp up it treid to update itself but never, i tried to run it from the start menu as stated but nothing happened. had to download from website and run as administrator. restarted comp, uninstalled and re-installed, restarted poker room... nothing works
Now it just sit there saying "Not in Hand"

How do I completely remove MHa? I had the original, v2.x and installed the alpha. I subsequently updated the alpha after 888 updated their software then I went to remove the v2.x. Since doing that, 888 crashes when I have the alpha going in the background. I've confirmed this by leaving them overnight, just idling even, and come back in the morning with 888 software shut down and an error msg on the screen.

I've tried removing all software and reinstalling them all one at a time but no dice. Win7 pc.

Once there is a flush on the board, MagicHoldem wont advise you to try and draw for a situation that you might be drawing dead in, meaning, there is a good chance none of these outs can save you from losing the hand, in other words, you are drawing for the 2nd best hand.

MagicHoldem differentiates between dangerous outs and good outs.
What are dangerous outs? like regular outs, dangerous outs are cards that will improve your hand. However, when there is a significant possibility that a certain out will improve an opponent’s hand to a greater extent than it will improve your hand, MagicHoldem defines it as a dangerous out. Dangerous outs are displayed for your information only. They are not included in your number of outs on the top of the box and not calculated in your Turn Odds and River Odds. you must decide whether or not a dangerous out is helpful to your hand.
