Bounce Backs - Campaign Module

When sending a Campaign - if an email address is undeliverable and bounces back to the sender (me) email address - should this show up in Maximizer as a bounce back.?  Currently, in this example it shows as successfully sent under notes.  I am then manually updating the Customer record to delete the email address and make note that it is not a valid email address any longer.  Is there a shortcut to this process?

Thank you!

Hi Lori

Good question.  You are doing the right thing.  Currently the bounce backs due to invalid email addresses, or mail server rejection from Campaigns would need to be manually adjusted in the customer record.  The record notes are where you will see the email was sent successfully from the Maximizer Webmail System.  It doesn't however update if the email was undeliverable.  The specific campaign notes should show failure results consistently.

Feel free to contact the Maximizer Support Center if you'd like to discuss the various other reasons for mail not to be delivered, or if you see anything that doesn't makes sense in the Campaign notes.

Thank you for the reply - The specific campaign notes are not recording failure results - it shows as 0 - but I have bounce backs in my email that check out to be legitimate bounce backs.   Any ideas?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Lori

Thank you for the clarification question.

The bounce backs that you are receiving due to rejection from the recipient mail server will not show as bounce-backs in the Campaign notes.  What will show in the Campaign notes is Successful or Failed send results, that is to say, if the email couldn't be composed due to errors in the address, that would equal a fail.

If no notes are showing in your campaign notes at all you may wish to check your Logging Preferences to ensure Campaigns are set to log notes. (Preference Settings>OtherPreferences> Logging).
