    We have been MC members now for about 3.5 years and happy up until the changes. I realize we're just a small little business within the grand scheme of MC things. However, even if it falls on deaf ears, I am going to speak my opinion.
    WE HATE THE NEW SITE. It's absolutely terrible. It smacks of Yelp, and we hate them. Let's start by saying that the information about OUR business is all runintogetherandits a MESS!!! There is nothing uniform about it. No proper paragraphs so that the reader can read our information properly. It's a nightmare!
    The pages are way TOO BUSY with all kinds of information that becomes confusing. The colors are awful, red, blue, etc.
    We pay good money to be LOCAL MERCHANTS, I don't see that tag anywhere on our site and where is our "TOP MERCHANT BADGE, we pay for that TOO!
    The site says get a "free estimate." says who...we're contractors, and we don't always give FREE ESTIMATES. There should be a disclaimer with that information somewhere on the site. We ourselves have stated a disclaimer-but consumers will have a difficult time finding it somewhere in our business information.
    Sorry Merchant Circle, as far as being NEW...that it is, but improved....it is NOT!!!
    I hope that if most of the MC members who have invested lots of loyalty and $$$ over the years state that they don't like the new site, that it will be reverted back to the old.

    I beleive the 'People Who Viewed This Also Viewed' box is an unwelcome advertisment on my page and for those of you that are not paying for the 'Premium Listing Upgrade' it should at least be moved MUCH lower on the listing page. It should not be placed above the merchant information where it is encouraging vistors to leave your page before they read about you and your business.

    For those of us PAYING for the 'Premium Listing Upgrade' we are paying for the right to NOT have other advertising on our page and the 'People Who Viewed This Also Viewed' IS AN ADVERTISEMENT and MC should either refund our fee or get it off our page!

      Our MC account should either "WORK HERE" as a sign in or shut this down as SPAMMING OUR PERSONAL E MAILS....a forced objective as I see it!

      I pay for items at MC that are now missing totally,,,,,,,The parent company that bought MC does not respond to E-Mails.....SAD> :( That is not good business practice? Clearly, it appears they are interested only in "per click" and nothing else.

    I understand why MC added a component to reach customers, but they need to keep the behind the scenes intact for businesses. One of the main reasons, I enjoyed the features of MC because it allowed me to create backlinks to my web site information through the Community Bullentin Boards. Many hours have been devoted to this feature and now it has disappeared - All of it is gone! PLEASE, bring back this feature so that the businesses promoting on your site continue to benefit. Without all of us there would not be a MC site.

    Do correct the spacing flaws between online view of newletters verses emailed version. The spacing is not the same between paragraphs. Allow editing of information to retain the necessary formatting. Move the text away from the photos because they are now blending in with the photos when there is no white space.

    Do correct the layout for what potential customers see, so that the business listing is not invisible among all the other businesses being featured on the same page. Allow spacing in typed text to make visual friendly.

    Do allow photos to be a visual feature as before. There should be a logo for the business listing when the page loads. Without this the customers will not be able to distinguish from one business to another. What this means for MC? If the site isn't customer friendly, the customers move to a better site and MC loses business.

    Allow "My Story" to return as a tab on the customer page view, so that the business can begin a personalized relationship engaging the customer.

    RW Advancements in Minneapolis, MN is not coming up in the MC search - why?

    The category feature is not working. It states one needs to be deleted to add another but it will not add. Where is the "Add" button?

    Please, please fix the back end for businesses so that we can continue to promote our businesses successfully. Please bring back all the Community Bullentin Boards so that all our hours of work has not been lost. Thanks!

    MC really needs some clear instructions with new look and feel of site. Need better structure and buttons going between main MC and this Get Satisfaction Forum venue.

    1st. email very confusing, with multiple links. Clicking on wrong link, Everyone going there first, thinking original MC individual page gone. Ouch~

    I know everything is still there, posting screen shots, showing everything the same as before, also explaining most sites need updating from time to time, just like Twitter, FaceBook, Google +, YouTube does on a regular basis. If I had control of FTP & DNS, just like anyone else, I could make changes as I like, but I don't, and neither do they, who are complaining. Also explaining this is FREE, so don't look a gift horse in the mouth, for crying out loud. lol So hope MC sends out another mass email, helping with instruction moving between the two, as it is confusing for some.

    Why is there a "Get a Quote" sign over my company name and address? You can't even see what the name of the company is. My listing looks awful. The picture that I use is now way at the bottom of the page. Actually the first thing that caught my eye was the list of other companies that had viewed my page. Now, those names could be seen.

    I am really happy that I'm not the only MC business who has issues with the new site. I personally "usually," never have problems with upgrades, new ideas, innovations, improvements, etc., but our site before was at least reader friendly.
    Now it is so busy with "filler," information everywhere that it becomes very difficult to stay on topic when trying to read OUR business information.
    I agree with so many folks here in the forum. I want to know why the "People Who Viewed This Also Viewed" is smack dab middle of MY information page. That takes the readers eyes off of our business information and puts it there!! We DON'T WANT THAT!!
    In addition, we pay specifically for a advertisement FREE site, and yet there are all types of advertisements on our business listing page. Here's an example:

  • Rick, a number of the 8 issues you raised above are already in the process of being addressed with planned changes to the new site. While the many complaints here in the forum suggest that the redesign was "botched", I can tell you that the early information is that pageviews for the redesigned MerchantCircle.com listings are significantly up over comparable days-of-the-week prior to the new release. This is very early data and may not be statistically significant, so we will be watching carefully. We did A/B testing of the new designs prior to releasing them, and though we now see that merchants--many of them experts in the web design world--don't think the new design is better, consumer visitors did and still do, showing much higher engagement with the pages than before.

    We have a brand new SOLR index for our internal search, which for many is decidedly better than our prior site search. While not many users find listings in MerchantCircle via the internal search (they come directly to the listing from Google or Bing instead), we do want the internal search to provide relevant local businesses. So if you could respond to this thread with a post including a link to your MC business listing, that will let us look at the search results and see what is happening with this particular query.

      Was the /business/ always in the middle there? That seemed new but don't remember.

      If I enter a search for Office Furniture in Phoenix, AZ I get the following from the beginning:
      1. Google ads
      2."SEARCH RESULTS"
      3. Three listings that look like "featured listings" (They have a slight gray background). They are:
      a. A wall faux finishing company
      b. a window cleaning company
      c. A furniture company (residential, not Office Furniture)
      4. More Google Ads
      5. 17 listings, many that are not claimed or have any ratings or content
      6. Next page: Google ads, etc. 13 more listings and then ours.

      If I sort by "highest rating" our unclaimed site for our warehouse address shows up about 1/2 way down the page. Many of the listings on the 1st page have NO ratings and/or are unclaimed.
      If I sort by "most reviewed" then we are 1st.

      Clearly the search function does not work by any normal standard.

      Regarding the other items on my list that are "already in the process of being addressed with planned changes to the new site.", I guess that's my point. they should have been addressed before launch. Every launch has its bugs and things that don't quite work out as planned but we are talking about core functions that either weren't coded properly, wern't planned or were hopefull going to skate by those silly Merchants without them noticing (until they did). Either way, the launch was still botched.

      Regarding improving the attraction of consumers, there is nothing wrong with that. It's good to attract businesses AND consumers. Just remember that many businesses are B2B and that was the slant that Merchant Circle was pushing not so long ago, that it was a great place to connect with other small busineses.

    Here is the latest discussion our team has had regarding features that are being heavily considered for changes per the merchant community (thank you again for all your feedback).....

    Invite button is broken--and will (hopefully) be fixed by Tuesday, January 24.

    Pictures--Photos are going to be moved up HIGHER on your listing page.

    Business Description--Is being moved just below photos, which is being placed higher on the page.

    "People who viewed this also viewed...."--this feature is being moved BELOW Photos and Business Description for all claimed listings.

    Mayor Program--has been discontinued on the public facing side (moved to the dashboards of merchant accounts) to speed up page load times and clean up the presentation of merchant listings.

    The concerns surrounding the discontinuance have recently been expressed to Product and Development and the Community Team is awaiting a response. As soon as we know anything we will let you in on it.

    Request a Quote has been temporarily removed from claimed listings-it will likely not be back until better placement and clarity on the feature can be expressed.

    Remember, Request a Quote it is still on UNCLAIMED listings--this means, if a browsing customer requests a quote from an unclaimed merchant listing, the request will be sent out to CLAIMED merchants--this is why the feature is still visible behind your dashboard, in your "Customers" tab;.

    Reviews and Ratings---Reviews and Ratings may no longer be left anonymously. Customers must register with a valid email to leave a review or rating.

    Listing Traffic--the traffic icon on the listing page itself has been removed, you may still monitor your traffic from inside your listing, under Performance. Traffic

    My Story has been removed as it was deemed too similar to "Business Information." Content duplication only hurts listings online. We recommend using "Business Information" to tell your story, then use "Products and Services" to list your service details.

    Community Bulletins were removed to "clean up" listings for browsing customers and prevent link farming, which hurts the network as a whole.

    WE ARE ALREADY SEEING AN INCREASE IN VISITOR TRAFFIC TO THE SITE!!! WE"LL HAVE SOME STATS FOR YOU VERY SOON. THIS IS EXTREMELY EXCITING AND WE ONLY ANTICIPATE THINGS WILL CONTINUE TO GROW!

    • Randy, here is a list of some of the things fixed today, the "People Who Viewed This" move is in testing.

      1) Implemented a variety of fixes to help increase performance of pages
      2) Resolved issue with unable to answer questions on our Answer pages
      3) Reimplemented Connect with Merchant capability on listings pages
      4) Restored "Follow Us" icons on listing page abridged footer
      5) Moved down one of the Adsense units on our category pages
      6) Restored "Additional Links" Premium Product on select listings
      7) Changed Circle Up phrasing back to "Follow" to avoid additional user confusion
    • The whole register to leave a review is ridiculous. While I expect someone to provide valid information, it should not be a requirement to do a full registration in order to leave a review. It was already hard enough to get people to leave a review without making them fully register. Let them sign in with other accounts they may already have. i.e. facebook, twitter, blogger, etc... Let them leave a review by simply providing basic valid info. i.e. name, email, etc... Also, does the review even work? I tried to leave a review for a restaurant and it just sat there saying submitting and nothing ever happened and the review didn't show up. Many many bugs.....

    This is a complete outrage! Merchant Circle's greed has cost us thousands of dollars, thousands of hours and they have deleted all of our efforts overnight replacing them with Google Ads!

    For those of you who don't understand how it works, let me explain: Merchant Circle gets paid by Google for every time their Ads are shown or clicked on, Merchant Circle removed major components on our page, such as the "Mayor" status and replaced them with Ads only they can cash in on. Of course they offer a "paid" service to remove the Ads (WITH THEIR LATEST UPGRADE BEING A CLEAR EFFORT TO FORCE US TO PAY), but there is no point, as even if the ads are removed, all of our efforts were removed also and we cannot get back our "Mayor" status.

    $3,600 DOLLARS LOST BECAUSE OF MERCHANT CIRCLE'S GREED
    We paid $200/month x 18 months = $3,600 to our developer to send invitations out every morning

    Over 1,000 Hours Wasted BECAUSE OF MERCHANT CIRCLE'S GREED
    3 Hours a day x 365 Days = 1,095 Hours Completely Wasted

    Our Merchant Circle Mayor Status Lost BECAUSE OF MERCHANT CIRCLE'S GREED
    It took us 18 months of daily effort and a lot of money invested to reach Merchant Circle Mayor Status

    Search Engine Placement Lost BECAUSE OF MERCHANT CIRCLE'S GREED:
    After 18 months of Search Engine Optimization, our Merchant Circle page no longer appears on the 1st page of Google; it doesn't appear at all on the first 10 pages!

    FREE Quote Button Now Benefits Our Competitors BECAUSE OF MERCHANT CIRCLE'S GREED:
    After 18 months of money and effort invested, we had finally received a quote request via the button. Now the button takes you to our competitors... Isn't it just great that Merchant Circle would use our effort and our money to get our page to the 1st page of Google only to remove everything we had worked for and hand the quotes to our competitors? As if it wasn't enough, let's remove all positive results we had achieved through blood, sweat and tears and replace them with Google Ads that only Merchant Circle benefits from.

    What's with all the censorship in the Q&A community?

    • Andy - I'll disagree with that 100% - my post was removed - not moved. I can find it no where on MC. However, I still get the updates to this thread in my e-mail. It use to be our posts would show with our company name and how long we have been with MC, but not any more. I've been with MC it seems like forever and have seen a lot of changes that were very positive. This latest change is horrible and the worst possible that you could have made.

    You automatically listed thousands of companies' accountant's addresses, instead of their trading addresses, by taking the legal address from Companies House website. A schoolboy error, surely? No wonder my accountant keeps getting junk mail intended for us. No doubt she'll soon have our customers knocking on her door wanting to buy sunglasses in the Spring. How could you be so stupid?

      I'm really sorry for your frustration. I know how difficult it is these days to manage information online and I really would like to help you figure this out.

      Hopefully my explanation will shed a little light on this issue.

      MerchantCircle listing data is pulled from a 3rd party source (originating from Yellowbook).

      Since listings are not manually entered (there are over 15 million listings), the information pulled from our 3rd party source can at times be outdated or incorrect.

      With MerchantCircle (and most online directory sites) businesses have the option of editing information free of charge (of course). MerchantCircle and most other online directories require a valid email to do this which ensures competitors do not have a field day with changing other's listing information.

      Once you have edited the listing, one of the BEST things to do to start managing online information is tackle the source.

      For many directory sites, this source is Localeze (www.localeze.com), also known as Info USA. They have a Help Center where you may search for your business and update or correct the information.

  • May be a little off topic but This is for all the Mayors or Ex Mayors and the members that put in thousands of hours on MC and now feel a loss of marketing power with the recent changes and it seems clear its up to the new owners to decide whats good or bad now.

    So until the smoke clears I posted a suggestion in the Tips and tricks for marketing a business section. If you have a minute check it out. If you dont have the buttons I would add them it seems they are here to stay.

    There are lots of us and we can all use our Like buttons and Google +1 buttons to get some SEO juice as they seem to be using them in the serch engine results more and more.

    I just tried to connect to your MC page through your image here on 'Get Satisfaction' and it does not link back to your MC listing. I suspect this is the case with any MC merchant posting here.

    I find it strange that we get directed to an outside site to post a comment on any of the 'Forums' but we can't link back to that poster's MC page. Why are we forced to use a forum outside the MC loop if we can't get linked back to MC to help with 'Listing Activity'?

    This forum is a hosted solution from Get Satisfaction that doesn't include SSON integration with MC, and the major downside compared to our old (home-built) forums is that it doesn't link back to the posters MC account, as it is a different profile on GS.

    If you recall, the old forums were broken in many ways...40 seconds to load !, and we didn't have the manpower to build our own, so this SaaS forum will require that our posters place a link to their listing on their posts or profile to facilitate connection through the forums.

    I have continually tried to have this problem resolved, I pay for a premium
    listing, yet ads for the same businesses are showing up on my listing even the same area code, this is ridiculous and I feel I should receive some type of refund until they can fix the bugs! and please I log on almost everyday sometimes 3x a day so being absent from the listing is a lame excuse that I have already heard- I would appreciate some actual results.

    Whether or not someone is paying for a premium listing, they have provided content which helps keep merc circ high in the rankings. My company pays me to drive traffic to our site. The money they pay me is still paying for a listing. Time is money. Give back the Mayor links.

  • I note the high degree of frustration with the changes.

    Putting aside the beta platform for a moment, it should be said that the changes that started happening with loss of traffic really began with the change in algorithm that Google made maybe six months ago that saw traffic to many sites like MerchantCircle drop by up to 40%. The reason for that was an attempt to clear out poor quality sites and leave more space for good sites with high quality content.

    Now we have new owners the same situation with Google looking to improve search quality and that isn't going to go away. That the response with this new Beta platform is to push our content below the screen and format the layout so that from a visitor perspective it promotes nothing to identify the business as a local business and part of a local community. I don't understand that reasoning but perhaps the new owners have a business model that is even less interested in the merchants of MerchantsCircle than was the case in the past.

    Whether we see any improvement we will have to wait and see but in the meantime it is important to ensure that your own websites are well set up to help generate traffic for your business, and anything that comes from MerchantCircle is a welcome bonus. We cannot change that which we don't control.

    My stats look like they have not gone down any further but then there is no way to know if they are even being collated as there is no breakdown and no analysis possible to verify accuracy.

    For all who are listed, let's just put traffic numbers aside for the moment and can you say what difference (if any) you are recording in terms of actions - enquiries and sales from your MerchantCircle listing compared to what you were getting prior to these changes, or even over the span of a year or two.

    Your feedback on that will be very valuable for us all.

    The changes made has made finding where to leave a review confusing. Its placed in the middle of the page so people are now trying to leave reviews in the talk to me box. Now looks as if my customers will now have to join MC to leave a review most will choose not to review at all.

    • Dear Phils Handy Service, the review feature can initially be accessed at the top of the page, above the merchant information section. Simply click "write a review" to go to the review section. The reason that people have to either signup or login to leave a review is to bring more credibility to the site. Before anybody from anywhere could leave a review, comment on a blog, etc.... now the reviews that are left will have more credibility with new potential customers visiting your business profile.

    1.) I was wondering if we are going to have the Answers to the Questions we have answered in the Q&A section posted on our main pages again?

    This was good keyworeded content that had the capability of bringing in more relevant search results to our main page.

    2.) Was wondering if/when they are going to address the issue of our main page content all running into itself with no line breaks visible. This really is hideous and needs to be addressed ASAP or we shall all have to rewrite our descriptions we previously worked so hard to perfect.

    The new format does nothing for loyal MC businesses! Other businesses appear before your own on your page, and having to click on another tab to see your map, coupons and blogs really sucks! The less "work" potential customers have to do to find the meat of a business means the more likely they are to become customers!
    Now, you have to scroll down past things that have nothing to do with your business to even get to your business' information!! TERRIBLE MOVE MC!! Will you care enough to change some of these things???!!

    Yes, I feel like shouting...you're not responding to the merchants who have made merchantcircle.com one of the leading directories! We're upset because you're placing more emphasis on making money through ads, etc., than what the entire system was designed to do for merchants!

    Today I google'd my business, as I periodically do. I was angry to see that any merchantcircle.com listing NO LONGER SHOWS our 5 Star Rating! The results show no rating bar at all!!! Now, merchantcircle.com just gets lost among all the other crappy directories out there! There is no advantage to being a member, and I'm angry about it.

    Your placing all our business information so far down the page that Google and other search engines no longer even see it is a DISASTER, not only for all your loyal merchants, but for merchantcircle.com as well!!!

    You need to start listening to your customers! You need to start doing what is right, and make immediate changes to correct these fatal errors!

    • Speaking of Google and their wisdom. Well thats great - you say you work with Google directly, as you are a major account for them. They have told you they like the new design, and are supportive of you further refinement of it. gosh We have been online since 1998 as we started selling boxes to eBay sellers when eBay opened its doors and its amazing how some people feel they are on a first name basis with Goggle. All we ever get is form letters and less traffic because our content is not up to their standards. OH my - we sell cardboard boxes. We make 2 cents per box and we should hire content writers so we can make 3 cents per box. There just is not that much profit in a cardboard box. Some companies sell boxes at 40 - 60% more than we do. They do ppc and charge more pay more and who loses is the CUSTOMER!!!

      150 Million packaging companies on the web and our quality is great and our prices are lower than any of them but it is the guy with the highest price that will get the #1 spot always. We Thank God that we have steady repeat customers that want to save money and not read about how great our boxes are for 16 paragraphs. If we had to depend on Google for traffic we would have closed our doors back in 1999.

    • Tony, I understand your low-cost business model doesn't allow you to compete against other packaging companies by spending equivalent marketing dollars, and this requires you to spend lots of personal time improving your visibility on search by using MerchantCircle and other sites which do "content marketing" to achieve relevance and rank on Google and other search engines. We just can't get away from the fact that the vast majority of people looking for goods and services use Google as the starting point. That is where most of the traffic that lands on MerchantCircle comes from. If you are getting enough traffic without Google, great, but getting traffic from Google is what we are here to help you with.

    I previously wrote and David responded. However, I don't feel you understand the issue. Here's my response, which I feel is deserving of calling this a new problem!

    Once again, you are missing the message!!! As well as the point, but that's another whole issue. My message is not that my listing does not already have a 5 star rating! It has for quite some time due to all the HARD work I've put into my merchantcircle.com listing!!! I have reviews, I have coupon/ads, a newsletter, etc and the search engines DO find my business! (which is what you had suggested in your response to me, along with resetting my rating, which is already 5 Stars!)

    What you are missing is the fact that just last week Google displayed merchantcircle.com listings in their search engine results (organic) along with the "Star" ratings. It made the listing jump out on the results pages. This is why we merchants work so hard to develop our profiles on merchantcircle.com!

    When I checked this week, the merchantcircle.com listings still show up in the search engine results (organic), but the "Star" Ratings do not show up. Merchantcircle.com listings get lost among all the others such as Yelp, Yellowpages.com, Angieslist.com, etc. Some of these still do display "Star" ratings, so I know it is not a change in Google's policy to display them altogether.

    Seems to me that someone there should be selecting random accounts to monitor search engine results (i.e. Google the business name) to see 1) how merchantcircle.com placements change (how better to actually see whether all these changes are working or not, and if they are, how well or bad they are doing), and 2) changes that naturally occur within Google (as well as other search engines). This has not been a well thought-out change. Testing should have been done, your customers (us) should have been notified in advance of the changes, and you should have a team set up to handle the onslaught of problems. No change goes without problems, but the ones we have been experiencing is really inexcusable. Where is the accountability to us?!!!

    So, to wrap it up as briefly as possible, the changes you have made need to be tweeked so that merchantcircle not only indexes better, but that it gives something of VALUE (the 5 Star Ratings must show in search engine results or you're no different than everyone else)!

    You can't expect us to pay for something that doesn't work! The value to a business is to get noticed, AND to get noticed in a positive way! We can get listed on dozens of crappy sites which give us the same "bang for our buck"! You need to stand out and deliver quality to those who have made merchantcircle.com a top directory site!!!

    Another peeve: We have been asking since Day 1 of the changes to correct the formatting of the "business description" section on our front page!!! I have a rather lengthy section which is extremely important to my business listing. It all runs together in one very unreadable, unappealing mess. PLEASE correct this ASAP!!!

    The other thing everyone is needing fixed is the placement of our business information. EVERYONE is complaining about this, and you need to address it. My listing this week is even lower down on the page than it was a week ago! Now, you cannot even see the business name on the top screen! If someone is not familiar with the site, they probably won't scroll down to look for more info. Did you consider three columns so you can get your ads and other info squeezed onto either side? What are the alternatives that would give US, your customers, what WE NEED? Ever consider opening this question up to your customers? We do have good ideas, and we do want this to work as much as you do. You could hold a contest for best ideas and give a year of free upgrade service etc.

      Thank you so much for this valuable feedback. We have been making minor tweak over the past weeks and will continue to do so until we get it right. All of the changes we are making are based entirely on 1) merchant feedback and 2) the data we have collected on SEO impact, ranking, etc.

      It did take a little trial and error, but we are pretty excited and we think everyone will be REALLY happy with the changes.

      There have also been some recent fixes pushed out to address some of the bugs we've been hearing about (including the formatting issue in the "About" section.

      If your formatting is still messed up, please give me a link to your MC page so I can take a look (it should not be messed up).

      As a small team, everybody here at MerchantCircle thanks you and the rest of the community for your patience as we work really hard to make MC the absolute best network for small businesses online.

    Seems I'm not the only one who's totally disgusted with the new and ludicrous layout that promotes OTHER businesses BEFORE displaying the full AboutUs.
    To create a web page that shoves a company's particulars down BELOW the viewable window is sickening, outrageous, contemptible and incredibly sloppy web design. (or, it's evidence of MerchantCircle's greed as a primary motivator) Whoever designed this should be FIRED. I counseled my clients against paying to "upgrade" even before this. Now, I'm convinced Merchant Circle is nothing more than an amateurish farce.
    The attached image shows exactly what is wrong with Merchant Circle. It's unconscionable that they'd try to pass this page layout off as an "improvement" that companies would ever consider helpful. Well, maybe the companies that are benefiting at your expense.
    My second consistent gripe (that's never been addressed) is MerchantCircle's moneymaking scheme of forcing people to pay to advertise in various cities. Of what possible benefit is their option to pay per city to a company that offers services REGION-WIDE, or NATIONALLY?? About as much as a SOHO that does not schedule in-office appointments being forced to list their address AND have MerchantCircle give visitors directions to their HOME!
    All in all, this whole set up is a farce, IMHO.

    • Youdontneedtoknow, the layout issue you cite with the diagram above is currently being addressed in product and there are forthcoming changes to this design. While the new layout may seem less beneficial to you, the overall effect of the layout changes is positive, resulting in increased traffic overall to merchant listings as consumers respond to this layout better than the previous layout. Apparently they are able to scroll to the About Us if needed. Nonetheless, we recognize that the information placed by the merchant should get more prominence, and we are working on that redesign.
    • On the subject of multiple-city listings, MC started with a pure focus on local small business, not online businesses or businesses that want to advertise nationally. So our model is designed to list a company in one town/city, but provide for expansion of that marketing to nearby cities. Hence the multi-city "Local Plus" product that is now part of the Plus package for $9.99/month. Perhaps one day in the future we will redesign the system to accommodate national or regional marketing, but for the moment our focus remains on the small business that provides service locally.

    I have scanned many times in an excersise of trying it out.

    THE PROBLEM is that I also rechecked the sites there scan says has wrong information like phone number, address or other?

    Those sites ARE PICTURE PERFECT!

    the YEXT scanner program is totally defective and I am sure I shall not buy their services when backchecking discloses they are so WRONG!
