    OK, the 'Get A Quote' flag is now gone from my Listing Page but when I go to my Products Page it covers the name of the first product listed on that page. Come on MC -- get rid of that flag or get it moved off to the side and out of the way.

    Since the new changes that M.C. has made to the merchant home pages and their formats, I have had a rapid decline in the number of visits to me M.C. web site. I am all for change, but if change is hurting business and the amount of web page traffic, then it's time to change back to what has worked for years and has been a proven model of sucess.

    • I received an email that the Community Bulletin Boards were removed to clean things up. I would encourage MC to rethink this. MC hopes to generate an income from their site and by doing so they need businesses to participate to add value. It is the businesses that are members of MC that drive traffic by utilizing the features on the site. If there is no value for a business owner to promote their site the SEO does drop for MC; along with the value of the site.

      One of the main concerns I have, is the lack of backlinks that are created by the Community Bulletin Boards being removed. The search engines use these as well as the "Talk to Me" and comment postings. The value for a business owner is using the backlinks to drive traffic to their site on MC. This in turn helps MC promote their site through the painstaking hours spent by the business owners to work on this. Why eliminate the Community Bulletin Boards in a win-win situation?

      Unfortunately, MC has just removed the value factor from the businesses that are listed and use this site. Judging by all the errors and mishaps we are all wondering if this was ever tested? Was the plan thought out? Can it ever be fixed with so many issues? What happened to the value for everyone involved (i.e. those businesses promoting the site of MC and MC creating a user friendly site for businesses to grow with SEO in mind). Yes, it is true that MC missed the mark on including customers in the mix, but now it seems as if MC has gone 100% the other direction and forgot about the businesses that add value to the site.

      Please bring back the Community Bulletin Board or something very similar for backlinks to promote our businesses, for those of us that really understand how valuable MC can really be.

      Please find the reason why RW Advancements, Minneapolis, Minnesota never shows up in the MC search EVER!

      Unfortunately, the businesses that have devoted so much time to MC are left wondering if it is even possible to fix what appears to be a disaster, and if we really want to devote more of our valuable time to a site with limited focus. I for one hope that MC doesn't sink and realizes that it was important to promote value in many ways for business owners. Otherwise, I will need to search for another site. Whenever I have sent a request for assistance I never got an answer in the past, only some bogus emails that were generic and meant nothing.

  • Serveral of my customers have contacted me and stated when trying to leave a 5 Star Rating, it brings them to another page asking them to sign into their M.C. account. And it never increases the number of ratings that I have.
    Please M.C. go back to the way it was, these numerours changes have turned into a Nightmare, instead of it being a pleasure like it was everytime I signed into my M.C. account. Stop the madness.

  • How come my listing does not show the "Top Merchant" or that I am a "Verified Merchant" or the "Circle Of Excellence" ?
    Nor does it show the "Facebook Likes" or The "Goggle Connects"
    Changes are supposed to be made for the "Better and not the "Worst"
    M.C. I have seen the amount of business I normally receive through my M.C. listing take a nose dive since all of these changes came into effect just a fews days ago, after being on this site for 4 years and highly praising it and the amount of business it has brought me, now i am faced with for the first time in looking for other sites to list my business, The ship is sinking fast, unless M.C. steps in and makes the needed changes ASAP I will have no choice but to abandon ship.
    Please M.C. you have done it before when mistakes like this were made, so lets do it again and change back to what was working and what has brought this site to were it is today. Dont wait till it's to late....

    Invite button is broken--it will be fixed this week.

    Request a Quote has been temporarily removed from claimed listings--it is still visible on unclaimed listings. It will likely not be back until better placement and clarity on the feature can be expressed.

    Remember, it is still on UNCLAIMED listings--this means, if a browsing customer requests a quote from an unclaimed merchant, the request will be parsed out to CLAIMED listing merchats--this is why the feature is still visible behind your dashboard.

    Reviews & Ratings---Reviews and Ratings may no longer be left anonymously. Customers must register with a valid email to leave a review or rating.

    My Story has been removed as it was deemed too similar to "Business Information." Content duplication only hurts listings online. We recommend using "Business Information" to tell your story, then use "Products and Services" to list your service details.

    Community Bulletins were removed in an attempt to "clean up" listings for browsing customers.

    Please keep in mind, while these changes may affect inner-merchant networking, they are designed to boost consumer traffic, which can only benefit the network.

    • Even the performance stats on MC show a significant drop in my listing traffic and any traffic to my website from the listing is now all but gone. The traffic to my website from MC is down 90% from Jan.

      All these great things you claim would help traffic have done the opposite. Get ride of the ads above the fold and get our information back up towards the top now. The longer this takes to fix the longer it will take to get our traffic back.

      To be honest with you the fact that you have not moved the information back up to by know is really just plan unacceptable.

      Not only is traffic down but so is the amount of invites for connections and the amount of acceptance of traffic.

      And the former merchant circle mayor of Chicago lost his status because he lost 20 merchants in chicago over night.

      It is looking to me like merchants are leaving and giving up on MC. And I am getting really close to that myself.
    • We have for the most part stopped being active. We had lots of traffic from MC before and now it is gone. No invites. No talk to me's. Nothing all dead and all because they thought they could cash in on our traffic and stop us from getting links from MC. Well they did stop us from posting talk to me's and all their traffic is just people frustrated and angry trying to make something out of their greed. Once enough complaints build up they will just clean the forum again.

  • So I search for vending machines in Maple Grove MN and All Star Vending Co is at the top of the list.
    So I search in New Hope MN, 4 miles away, and no one shows up. shouldn't the software pick Companies in the area, like 25 miles and list them?
    It concerns me that in a business like ours where we serve a metro area we are only listed in the specific suburb where our address is.

    The biggest issue I have is that my whole blog section is a complete disaster. It was working fine before the changes. Now stuff is covered up and blog posts and pictures just went wherever they felt like it.

    I rely on this site for a lot of our new business. Now when anyone goes there not only does it look so busy and confusing it also make us look like idiots because the customer thinks we put it together and put it up that way. I actually had to make a blog post and appoligize for the mess... Please Help!!! We are going to lose business over this mess.I have tried on my end to fix it but can't. I've spent day's if not weeks on this site since I joined in 2008 to get it the way I wanted it and with one click of your button it has all been ruined...

  • When will you address the issue with People viewed this site is above the About information for the merchants. This is not good SEO. The merchants information should be displayed above the fold and above who else viewed and ads.

    if this isn't addressed it makes MC less of a value to me and I suspect most merchants.

    To be honest this should have been tested in Beta before being rolled out. As an IT professional if a site I was in charge of was rolled with this many bugs I be unemployed.

    • The issue you speak of has been a problem with their blog platform for as long as I remember. Last summer (June-July) MC had issues with pictures in the blogs, if you added a photo only the title of the blog, not the body, would show up on your page. The blog platform does not seem to be a high priority issue to MC so don't expect changes soon (my opinion).

      I am using Empower Network, to run my blogs on now. It is a paid service ($25/month) but being that it is a WordPress platform it seems to work well. to see a sample go to http://www.empowernetwork.com/randyt0...

      Randy is correct. This has been an ongoing issue for some time as this bug seems to afflict some, but not all, merchant blogs.

      It was decided a larger scale solution was needed to implement a REAL fix for blogs and really optimize the feature. The couldn't be done until after the redesign.

      Since its considered a highly valuable tool, this issue will indeed be addressed. The Community Team is awaiting a target date from our Product and Dev teams as to when the blog feature will be reconstructed.

      We are pressing hard for this not only a fix, but a big improvement on the feature itself.

    • Tony and Andrea, in other posts I have pointed out that the listing PR is not affected by the bug that removed the links from the listing page to the merchant content on the tabs. We didn't split the homepage content in this new release, it was always that way, with ugc content on various tabs. We did mistakenly lose the snippets/links to that content on the listing page, which ports PR from the listing page to the content pages which are "split" apart and always have been.

      Also in other posts we notified merchants that the "People Who Viewed This Also Viewed" module is misplaced and is being moved lower. You will have to give us a few days to respond to these issues with changes, we are working on them with our small team of developers.

    Depending on the computer I use, The "products Tab" does not display properly. Half of the information is gone or is not showing, unless you click on the "more" link, to see the full description.

    Instead of seeing "Moon Jell-eze" , I'm only seeing "eze" along with the right-side half of the paragraph.

    So, maybe if you move the "Get A Free Quote" to somewhere else, there would be room on my ad to display properly.

    My small 10" Netbook with Windows XP seams to display it ok, but not on my home computer with Windows 7. However, I really do not think Windows is the issue.

    • Hi Austin, are you either using Google Chrome or an older version of Internet Explorer? As we rolled out the new site design we have had a few issues in certain places on the site where it warns users of potential "malware" that might exist. We are still working through this and trying to find out why certain browsers or versions of browsers show these messages.     I've been regularly answering questions related to our field of work, and since Monday when I click on the "answer" button (and I've tried from a variety of places within my MerchantCircle and my Neighbor View pages), it does NOTHING. No answer box appears.

    I'd also like to know how I go about changing the order of items on my Products page. They're all reversed. I'd like the one major one to appear at the top...not the bottom!

    I am seeing a lot of questions about the Answers platform and Blog feature.

    Here are some updates. . .

    Premium Link Upgrade - It seems links that showed up as premium link add-ons mysteriously disappeared with the launch. This is being looked at as I type this.

    Answers--There is definitely a bug with Answers and it is being worked on. We hope to have it fixed really soon.

    Blogs--While the feature is usable, there has been an ongoing bug with blogs which in turn has affected many (but not all) merchants. It was decided that a larger scale fix needed to happen to improve and optimize this feature however the fix could not be done until after the launch.

    Blogs are such a valuable tool and among one of our most popular FREE tools. We want it to work for you. Our engineers are now re-examining the blog issue and we are talking about a target date to launch this major fix.

    • Are there any tech-people left over from the original MC? Those people really looked at our comments and were actually able to fix many bugs.

      I really value the Blog because I have 368 comments including mine, where I personally answer people's important & sometimes urgent questions.
      It is so annoying that the "captcha" code word always expires!! You have to go back to your comment & type in a new one every single time. It does not tell you that your comment did NOT post....unless you check it. So I had to write instructions at the top of the Blog, to the people who want to comment & ask me a question!

    When is MC going to fix the Invite button. I thought that was going to be fixed by now. The main reason I am here is to connect with other businesses. This is probably one of the biggest issues that is broke next to getting our business information back towards the top.

    I have been averaging 10-12 new connections per day and about 1/3 of them for my city. The number of new connections has dropped to almost nothing. When I look at the top 10 in Chicago there no change. It is almost like the top 10 merchants have stopped promoting Merchant Circle.

    This is making me really start to think is MC just a big waste of time now! I understand some of the changes but this wasn't tested and it should have been rolled back when all the bugs were found. Now I suspect as time has gone buy that it would be next to impossible to roll it back.

    These bugs need to be fixed now. People want action fast these days and the longer this goes broken the more of those that will not come back.

  • May be a little off topic but This is for all the Mayors or Ex Mayors and the members that put in thousands of hours on MC and now feel a loss of marketing power with the recent changes and it seems clear its up to the new owners to decide whats good or bad now.

    So until the smoke clears I posted a suggestion in the Tips and tricks for marketing a business section. If you have a minute check it out. If you dont have the buttons I would add them it seems they are here to stay.

    There are lots of us and we can all use our Like buttons and Google +1 buttons to get some SEO juice as they seem to be using them in the serch engine results more and more.

    I put the appointment widget on my website www.falconillinoishomes.com and tested it by sending an appointment request. The request went to my merchant circle profile but I did not receive an email to let me know that a request had been made. I also replied to the request but didn't receive that email either. Please advise.
    • Dear Vanessa, this is a known issue and is getting scheduled into our product roadmap. We have product releases that are scheduled to push on 2/14, 2/21, & 2/28 so I image this fix will be included in one of the 3.   • It lists my hours of operation from Hours: April 16-Dec 31 9:00am to 5:00pm
    We are a year round business and always have been.
    We are open Jan to April from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday thru Friday and on Saturday until 5:00 please correct this!

    My name is Bob Sluss, and my business, Fine Tuning, is listed in Merchants Circle for Gainesville, Florida. The first review on that page is one posted in 2009, a negative 1-star review. The successive reviews after that are positive 5-star reviews, the last one posted in August of 2011. I check my review pages periodically, and noticed yesterday that the 1-star review somehow is now first in order, above the other reviews. I'm not asking that the 1-star review be removed, just put back in its original place, at the bottom of the reviews. As I'm sure you understand, I would rather people see all the positive 5-star reviews first! Can anything be done to change that back?

  • When I return to your login page it does not remember my email (username). When I click on a emailed link to Accept a new connection and the login page opens, my email address does appear in the username field, but only for one second...it disappears and I have to re-enter my email address (username) to login.

    • Oops, my second note should have been addressed to "Robert".
    • The login email actually does save. I just checked and you will see the cursor in the email address box with nothing. Simply click to the password box and your email address will appear in the box above. This is a feature that was implemented to not make it obvious that the email login is saved.

  • I thought the new format was in part so the pages would load faster. Well they are not loading faster and if anything they are slower.

    Pages when loading in IE show IE errors (Proper testing should have found these errors) This rollout of a new look has been done in a very unprofessional way. I am starting to see why this might not be something I want to continue to be associated with. We don't have weeks to get this fixed. It needs to be fixed now.

    Network and all activity is empty on dashboard this morning.

    You really have a lot of issues with this new format. It would appear that no one did much testing with this before going live, which really should be unacceptable. These kinds of issues do not make MC look like a professional company. It does the opposite.

    The invite button has been gone for over a week an noone can say when it will be fixed excetp to say ASAP. ASAP is not a week or longer that means to us with in days.

    Everytime I write a blog, article, make a coupon, ad, offer, etc. It shows saved but when I log back in they all disappear. This has been an ongoing problem for about a month now.

    HELP.... what were you thinking? New format is absolutely the worst redesign ever. What hppened to the photo gallery? Merchant Circle Mayor? Invite button? Changes should enhance listing and merchant interactions. Please please reconsider where this redesign is going before I have to remove my business from this sinking ship
    • Robert, to catch you up with other threads here which discuss individual issues, the photo gallery is being moved back up to above the fold, the invite button missing is a bug that should be corrected already, there is an separate discussion about the Mayors program, which has been removed from city pages as part of the redesign, though the extensive connections created in pursuit of the Mayorship still benefit the Mayors.

      While we are working to enhance consumer engagement with the site, which is key to our ranking, we have made changes to some features which were plainly more about link exchange rather than substantive merchant interactions in the interest of providing consumers with better services.
    • When are you going to move the "Sites Also viewed" down BELOW our merchant info! Seems silly to have people see competitors sites before they even have a chance to review our info! AND, when will you be returning the formatting aspect of our information (i.e. being able to separate paragraphs) so it doesn't look like one big jumble!

    EXCUSE CAPS FIRST OF ALL. - NOTHING PERSONAL BUT LOOKING FROM OUR END - IT SEEMS EVERY TIME YOU FIX 1 BUG - 2 - 5 MORE TAKE ITS PLACE. - THIS IS GETTING TO BE RIDICULOUS.

    WHATS EVEN MORE FRUSTRATING IS THE NO / LITTLE COMMUNICATION BY THE MC STAFF. - WE KEEP GETTING THE SAME ANSWER " WILL BE FIXED ASAP " OR " IN PROGRESS ". - THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE ANSWER FROM OUR MERCHANT POINT OF VIEW.

    THIS REDESIGN SHOWS THERE WAS NO / LITTLE BETA TESTING BEFORE DEPLOYMENT BECAUSE YOU WOULD NOT HAVE THIS AMOUNT OF BUGS / ERRORS IN THE CODE.

    IT ALSO SHOWS INADEQUATE TESTING ON ALL PLATFORMS BECAUSE I GET ERRORS WITHIN IE PLATFORM AND NONE WITH FIREFOX PLATFORM.

    ANOTHER NOTE - ONE OF THE BEST FEATURES OF THE MC NETWORK WAS THE MAYOR PROGRAM WHICH YOU " MC " THREW AWAY. - IT GAVE THE LOCAL MERCHANTS THE INCENTIVE TO SPEND THEIR VALUABLE TIME ACHIEVING THAT POSITION AND FIGHTING TO MAINTAIN THAT STATUS WHICH IN TURN ALLOWED THE MC NETWORK TO GROW.

    WE THE MERCHANTS OF THE MC NETWORK HAVE INVESTED HUNDREDS OF HOURS TO MAKE MC THE VALUABLE RESOURCE THAT IT HAS BECOME AND TO THROW IT AWAY MAKES ME PERSONALLY MAD & FRUSTRATED.

    THIS IS WHY I PAY FOR EXTRA CITY LISTINGS TO GET EXPOSURE TO NEW CUSTOMERS AND NOW ITS JUST A WASTE OF MONEY.

    JUST A SUGGESTION - POST A POLL ON THE CURRENT MEMBER ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE REDESIGN. - I BET YOU FIND VERY FEW OF THE MERCHANTS ARE HAPPY.
