Hi Colin, I'm not familiar with the Powerbook G4 line...is that a PowerPC or an Intel processor? If you visit http://timheuer.com/wpfe/versiontest/ what do you see? Is it asking you to install Silverlight again?

Hi Colin, thanks for confirming the platform (sorry I didn't know, but wasn't sure where to find a mapping for Apple and their related chip platforms). Silverlight 2 (which is likely what you attempted to install) is not supported on PowerPC platforms, including Apple. You may have successfully installed Silverlight 1.0 (which *is* supported on PPC). If you visit a site that was properly developed, it should alert you that you have an unsupported platform...unfortunately, most developers have yet to update their sites to do this check (my version tester is a bad example as well as I do nothing :-( to check).

You can see the supported matrix here: http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/...

Some sites still use Silverlight 1.0 such as http://silverlight.net (for now, but we are updating our media player to a v2 version for more features).

Sorry about this but hope it helps explain the situation. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi, I've got the same issue on an iBook G4 (a fairly old machine), thanks for your help here. I have 'The latest version of Silverlight 1.0 is installed:version Silverlight 1 GDR 4 (1.0.30715.0)' on the MS Silverlight page, but the ITV player http://www.itv.com/ITVPlayer/Video/de... is still demanding an install.

So the fix is .. wait for ITV to improve themselves or wait for v2? When's that due for mac?

John, the G4 platform is a Mac PowerPC, for which only Silverlight 1.0 is supported. The iTV player is Silverlight 2 and not supported on PowerPC.

Unfortunately right now there aren't plans for Silverlight 2 to be supported on PowerPC.
