Outlook 2007's Outlook.nk2 file is corrupt

User is running Outlook 2007 on an XP Pro PC
Today the user experienced an issue on her PC 
-      Issue first started as “not being able to log onto her PC”. She powered off her computer via power button. Restarted PC and then was able to logon to her PC. Once logged on, she noticed she lost all her drive mappings.
-      Her PC is connected to a server setup as a “peer to peer” and not in a domain. I had to reset her password on the server (same as her PC) All was fine then
-      However, Outlook runs for the local PC in the default directory. Nothing to do with the server. But apparently something happened during this morning’s PC issues. 

 I created a new Outlook profile and tried to test the Outlook.nk2 file to no avail.
-      The Outlook.nk2 file is 1012KB in size which indicates user has hundreds of cached email addresses. The only addresses that show up under this nk2 file now are the emails she composed today
-      If I renamed the original nk2 file and created a new on, obviously it blank by default
-      This file became corrupt amidst all the Outlook issues user experienced today. 

Any thoughts how to get this repaired? Is there a repair utility for the nk2 file -  like the “scanpst.exe” does for Outlook PST files

Repair errors by using Scanpst.exe

Exit Outlook if it is running.

Double-click Scanpst.exe, located at drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE12.

In the Enter the name of the file you want to scan box, enter the name of the .pst or .ost file that you want to check, or click Browse to search for the file.

To specify the scan log options, click Options, and then click the option that you want.

Click Start.

If errors are found after the scan is complete, you will be prompted to start the repair process to fix the errors.

A backup file is created during the repair process. To change the default name or location of this backup file, in the Enter name of backup file box, enter a new name, or click Browse to look for the file that you want to use.

Click Repair.

Start Outlook by using the profile that contains the .pst file that you tried to repair.

On the Go menu, click Folder List.

In the Folder List, you may see a folder named Recovered Personal Folders that contains your default Outlook folders or a Lost and Found folder. The recovered folders are usually empty, because this is a rebuilt .pst file. The Lost and Found folder contains the folders and items
