Outlook pst and ost files

I have two OUTLOOK 2003 acсounts in my office location, one a local PST account and a second Exchange Server account.  The Exchange is only at my office location.

I copy my PST file back and forth to my home installation (also OUTLOOK 2003) so that I always have my latest PST available.  In this way I do not lose any mail or other data.
As of yesterday I created an Exchange OST cache file by selecting the appropriate preference settings on the Exchange account.  I have now copied my PST and OST files to my home installation (where I am working today).
1. Is all of my  data (especially emails) held in the PST or is it split between the PST and OST?
2. What happens if I delete the OST file?  Will I loose data?
3. If I create or download new emails or data, will this be saved into my PST file as usual and then transfer to my office location when I copy the file back when I am next in my office?
Please advise.

OST - OST is an cached mode of mails in Exchange

PST - is the personal folder can be created locally in your Workstation.

1 It will split between pst and ost

2 If you delete ost the data will not be loss. But first copy the mail from ost to pst before deleting for a safer side.  Read how to do this to yourself. https://support.office.com/en-US/article/Introduction-to-Outlook-Data-Files-pst-and-ost-222EAF92-A995-45D9-BDE2-F331F60E2790

Or  you can do this using Recovery Toolbox for Outlook tool. https://osttopst.recoverytoolbox.com/

3 If you work from home it will be saved in pst you have to manually copy the pst back to the office
