Lukis have you contacted Netflix support first? Can you send me a screenshot of the initial page error with 8007?

alright so I googled 'Error Code 8007' to see if it is a universal code. and found that it seems to pertain to misconfigured system files. and registry problems. is this possibly my problem? what would I do to check?

I think I have this problem, too. My Netflix video loadup just stops before anything shows, and I get stuck on the red Netflix screen. Trying to open the Silverlight preferences causes a crash of the Silverlight Preferences application (hidden inside the plugin).

I talked to Netflix support, and they have no idea. They claim no one else is having this probem, and it's an issue between me and M$.

Hi Lukis/Ponch, I'm investigating...appreciate your patience. Can you tell me the specifications of your machines? Lukis I see yours is a Mac, Ponch are you also on Mac?

Alright Ponch/Tim, I created another user on my computer. opened netflix on it and WALLAH it works!! So it has to do with something with allowances or something that is messed up on my user right? But what could it be?

Lukis/Ponch -- we think we've identified the problem. I'd like to put one of you in touch with one of our engineers on this area to gather some more information and perhaps help us identify a fix we need to make. If you are willing to help solve this issue, please email me at timheuer@microsoft.com (subject line: NETFLIX 8007) and I'll put you in touch. It will require some information gathering and a few technical steps on your end to gather some anonymous data from the error.

I have this exact same issue. Same errors, same everything. No matter how many times I uninstall I get the same error messages. Tried it on Firefox and Safari (I am on a Mac). I watched an instant movie last week and it worked fine, now it won't.

Tim, thanks for the help. I sent the email to you and Tom and everything is working. I did what Tom said, went to /Users//Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Silverlight/is/ and deleted the sub-directory and now the movies are playing. Thanks!

Any more luck with a fix/workaround?

Thanks guys.

Jackietheblad: Have you deleted ALL subdirectories under the "is" folder structure, then restarted the browser?

Hey Tim...thanks for the fast reply. Yes...the "is" folder is completely empty. Am I missing something? A complete computer restart shouldn't be necessary since this seems to be just a browser issue, but should I try it?

Thanks again.

Jackietheblade -- it wouldn't hurt to try :-) but I suspect it won't do anything. Are you getting the crash errors as well? If so, can you email me offline (timheuer@Microsoft.com) and I'll see if we can get some data from your computer to help solve.

Used AppZapper to completely remove all Silverlight components from my system. Reinstalled Silverlight and it works perfectly.

Hope this helps.

Lukis have you tried the other steps of deleting the "is" folder for your user account. Also curious if you tried uninstalling the plugin and re-installing it?
