Still have a problem with Live...

Hi!

I not long ago posted about trying to get my Gamertag changed for GWFL. I was told that I had to do a "Live ID Switch" and that it was only possible on the 360. I finally managed to get hold of a 360 and went through the process, only to find a silly error asking me to confirm my date of birth on accounts.live.com. There was no way to 'confirm' this though and I've since lost my chance to change my Gamertag's associated email address to my new one.

I got in touch with Xbox Live support via email and they said I had to call. I mentioned to them that I'm telephobic (yes it's real... I'm scared to talk to people on the phone) and they just didn't take any notice of what I said and gave me a standard reply back. I did try to call them but my phone's are cordless and let's just say that the 2 times I tried calling them, the batteries on each phone ran out.

All I want to do is change the registered email address (I just want the Gamertag ported over to my new Live ID... that's all, no contacts or anything) but Microsoft seem to be making me jump through hoops to get this simple thing done. Is there anyone who could do this simple task for me? I'd be so grateful.

Thanks for any assistance you might be able to offer me!

Regards,
Ian.

First off, apologies for the issue you noted with your gamertag and Live account. We're interested in solving your issue and getting more information: if you'd like to share details, please go to http://blogs.msdn.com/mthree/contact.... and fill out the resulting form with your contact info (including the customer service case number, your name, email and address) and I will escalate to the customer service team. (It's the contact link from http://blogs.msdn.com/mthree, under the This Blog heading on the left hand nav, "Email" ) I'll check into this on your behalf.

(I should also note that we recently launched support for Windows Live customers at http://windowslivehelp.com/.)
