    Hi Sky,

I must inform you that I purchased the FX Plus collection last Tuesday, then spent the next several days trying to discover why the collection crashed MixMeister on a Windows 7 platform. After many hours trying different options and speaking with the Air tech support staff it was determined (by the AIR Tech folks) that their plugins, for whatever reason, are not currently working with MixMeister on a Windows 7 platform. Your situation may be different if you are not on the same OS. The AIR team are working on the problem and I trust they will resolve the problem and publish an update.

That said, MixMeister 7.7 will support any standard VST plugin as long as the plugin is written and published correctly. Some freeware developers are less likely to publish DLLs to standard. I've been playing around with a lot of them over the last few days and had some great learning moments. Simply place the VST dll in whatever directory you wish, then using the MixMeister Tools > Options menu, select the Effects tab and browse to the VST plugin directory. MixMeister will load the effects from the directory on startup and display them in the effects pane.

MixMeister 7.7 installed a small collection of AIR effects in a subdirectory beneath the MixMeister install directory. I recommend creating a separate directory for VST plugins and moving the existing AIR effects to that directory. This approach will make it easier to install/reinstall if the need should arise.

    Hope this helps.

  • Another thought just came to mind. I had assumed that your question pertained to adding new FX so that they will appear in the Effects pane. When you say that you want to add AIR FX to your playlist, do you mean applying an effect to the entire playlist versus to a track or part of a track? If so, there is a handy tutorial (accessed from the Help menu) that will walk you through the entire process.

Thought I had better ask in the event the scope of your question was not what I had originally thought.

  • I am using the Mac version and there is No MixMeister Tools > Options menu to add Effects. Also, is there a controller I can buy instead of using my keyboard and mouse? When I go to Help menu and click on Tutorial a window pops up and says Missing Plugin.

  • I have no idea when it comes to a Mac. I have been a Windows person since it first came out, though I am seriously considering making the switch as a result of Windows 10. :-) I wish I could be of more help. Hopefully someone with more Mac knowledge will chime in.

  • Also, the Tool > Options menu doesn't let you add effects, per se, it just lets you point to the directory where your effects plugins are stored. Just wanted to be clear.
