Keyboard & Clipboards not working on second machine

Mouse is working fine. But the keyboard & clipboard will only work on the second machine if I open Mouse With Out Borders and click Apply (don't need to make any changes) and leave the window open.  If I close the window, the keyboard will no longer work on the remote machine.

This issue goes both ways.
