I am unable to install Thunderbird under Windows 7, even with UAC disabled and signed on as an administrator.
"7-Zip: Can not create temp folder archive."
Note: I have moved everything out of C:\Users\userid (except AppData) to another partition for security. However, that should be obvious to any installer that looks in the registry.
What is the solution?

Had this on a couple of Win 7 - 64 bit PC's. Think it's the result of an earlier trojan that's been partly cleaned up. Other symptoms include the windows search function not working and printers not showing up. Main issue is incorrect user permissions on Appdata/local folder
Quick fix is
Organise, folder and search options
View, then tick "show hidden files and folderS"
Then simply navigate to the Application data \ local folder
The user permissions nag box will come up, select Yes then it's all ok.
Now just to figure out the printer problem.
