I’m frustrated

thunderbird install popup asks for "FIPS 140 Cryptographic, Key and."

Just tried to update to Thunderbird 3 - I've got this pop up message which is incomplete. Surely this should have been tested?

Popup: "Please enter the master password for the FIPS 140 Cryptographic, Key and ."

    Located this: http://support.mozillamessaging.com/u... and applied the first workaround. Had to click on CANCEL in all the popups about passcodes.

    If you want TB2 back:
    http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozil...

    The workround you applied (did it work?) relates to this bug
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug...
    which I hit too - though mine didn't relate to FIPS and didn't show those warnings. I was asked about FIPS when I raised this bug
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug...

    Are you using, or have you ever used, FIPS?

    There are some pretty obscure bugs relating to FIPS.

    After applying the workaround as above, I then hit problems trying to get my mail. This should be the subject of another bug, but here goes: I didn't get a screen shot, but basically each of the 10 or so email accounts I had complained in individual pop-up grey boxes about an error getting the password. I deleted a mail account off of TB3, closed TB3. Started TB3 up again, added the same mail account via the wizard. Alert message said "Password OK!" which was reassuring somewhat, but then the wizard box never closed down and kept a circulating grey arrow in the wizard box going round and round, until I eventually gave up waiting. (Firewall problems? not sure);
    At the end of the day, I went back to Outlook Express, understandably p****d off and having wasted several hours of my time.
    If the world is short of testers, for goodness sake, I'll make myself available. But don't ever release a product like this again without thorough testing.
