I’m frustrated

Where have my local folders gone to ?

How is it that my local folders do exist in my explorer, but don't appear any more in Thunderbird? How can I get them back in Thunderbird ?

  • You have the 'Unified folders view' in the left folder pane. Click the arrow buttons in the header until you get the 'All folders' view.

  • Good idea, but it does not change my problem. Any other option ?

  • There seems be something broken. I don't what, so I recommend importing those missing folders with Import Export Tools.

  • I’m relieved
Actually, I've just spent quite a while doing things manually with the "trials and errors" empirical technique ...
I discovered that specific types of files were missing on my C:Drive: to "see" a local folder in Thunderbird, it obviously needs a File and a .msf.
I had all the .msf, but most of my "Files" (except the two I could see in Thunderbird) were only available in sub-folders on my C:Drive, which seemed to prevent Thunderbird from retrieving them.
I cut & pasted all of them ... and everything seems to work fine.
I still don't understand how this initially happened. I did run a "Glary Utility" software yesterday, which might have caused this, but that's the only hypothesis I have.
    Anyway, thanks for your support.

  • The website seems to have problems, so I quote you from the response notification:

I guess the tool considered files without file endings as temporary files and deleted them.
