# min/miles wrong Edit Subject

the calculator determining the miles per hour is inaccurate. 5 miles in 50 mins has stated 16>05 min/mile

• Yes I have the same problem. It seems to be incorrectly assuming that you ran the distance in km and in miles (which in your case is 5 kmconverted to 3.107miles) Then the pace is coming out as 16:05 per mile which is false. This seems like a bug !

• when logging runs, the form says miles but does all the calcs in km... results in inaccurate pace/distance calcs in the summaries

Looks like I will run my Marathon in about 7hrs when I want to do 4.30hrs!!
Is there any chance that this will be sorted - maths isnt my strong point !! I am going mas dividing by 8 and multiplying by 5 or is it the other way round!!!!

• The unit selector has been removed to avoid confusion. Instead, the unit that was selected in the Settings will be used for calculation.

This is a temporary solution, though. We're not completely happy with it and will come back to improving the design. Thanks!
• The problem persist on the dashboard, but when one try to add more detail to a run it is accurate. Thanks.

• The problem has been marked solved, however it appears I still have the same issue: I have set-up as schedule for a 10 k in 54mins, however the final suggested target speed is 6:57 min/km-6:06 min/km.

Thanks for helping out, because I do like the new site.

• Does this impact the training schedule paces too? I must admit they look quite conservative to me. For example, I am targetting 1h40m for a half marathon. One of my final runs is marked "race pace" but then suggests a pace between 9:10min/mile and 8:17min/mile (which over half-marathon would be between 2hours and 1hour48, so too slow for me). I want to be able to trust the plan to get me in shape, but I'm having my doubts based on your comment!

• I’m unsure
I don't think the pace is correct on the My Running page. 5 miles at 49:48 is not 16:02 per mile.

• I’m undecided
Two bugs: a) The summary page shows my pace as 14 min/mile, when the detail shows it as 8:47 min per mile - the latter is correct b) my half-marathon plan is set for 1st May but the plan then shows the event on 24th April - a week early. Otherwise My Asics is a great site and I love your trainers too

• There Is an error in the aplication. I discover that you must to put the desired target time in the place of your last time in an event similar, when you create the plan. Then the racespeed (paces of each trai) are ok

Thats great however I will have to create a New Plan and wont I loose all the information?? I dont think this is the best way - I would have thought that the programmers could have amended the Programme - there I was thinking I am running faster than I needed to but infact I am slower!!! Should have calculated it myself before!!
Thanks

• Hey Steven, you won't lose the already stored information about the runs that you did before.

@angel: Thanks, you made me realize this just in time, since I am just starting a new schedule today. Now the only thing we have to do is make MyAsics work the right way. So: all GetSatisfaction employees that are working on MyAsics: please make the website use the field "time you would like to achieve next event" to calculate the speeds in the training programme in stead of the "I have achieved this result during the last event"field...

• The new design looks great and very cool, but functionality must come before design. I hope Asics is working in this problem.
Anyway thanks to Asics for making these free tools. They are a great help for those (like me) who do not have personal trainers.

Same issue maybe. I just started to jog and ran my lil 2.1 km round in 16:11 minutes and I got the pace 7:42, which isn't right. But then I am trying out beta features and i tried the recalculate my pace button...

Which asks me, how fast I think I'd run a 2.1 km race today... since I don't want to go ahead too fast I put in my 16:10. Then it asked me to set a realistic goal! I tried with 20 minutes as well, but it wasn't accepted. So I can't recalculate my pace.

And when I can't trust these features, can I trust that the suggested pace in my plan is correctly calculated?

• Hi Linda,

Oh no! It sounds like you've stumbled across a bug in the way the system is providing feedback on goals.

I've passed this on to our development team to look into right away.

• Miles are way off. Was excited that I did an under 10 minute mile, only to find out the GPS, or whatever was completely off. MyAsics App registered 3 miles, Nike+ and Google registered 1.5. Next day was even worse...4 miles! and ran the exact path I did the day before. Please fix. I really like your app and the reminders etc. But useless if I don't know how far I've run. (GPS signal was strong in the area I was running, and as I said the Nike+ and Google maps seemed to agree on distance)

Thanks!

• Hi Kate,

sorry to hear that you're having troubles with the app.
* what iPhone version do you have
* what iOS version does it run
* what MY ASICS app version do you have (at the bottom of the Settings screen).

Was the run saved to MY ASICS desktop and would you be able to share a screenshot of the map of the run, and possibly a screenshot of the map of the run that the Nike+ app saved?

Best,
Paul
