Cant redeem codes because they wont work? They only have 12 letters and numbers?

I have two different cap codes that I recently purchased over 3 months ago from a gas station that I usually frequent. I have tried entering these codes from these 2 individual cap codes to get my 6 points but the codes under both of the caps only have 12 letters and numbers. Everytime I try to redeem the codes for these 2 caps I have on the MyCokeRewards website it states "Sorry it looks like there was an error in the code you entered. Please try again ." I know these codes should work because on the front of both caps it clearly has the little picture of the bottle saying "Get Rewarded @ mycokerewards.com. So what do I do from here and how do I get my 6 points?

The 12-letter/number codes were discontinued after 2014.

Well 2 of those codes came from a sprite and a dasani water I purchased 3 months ago, so surely I should still be able to get something for them. After all I am a paying customer......

It appears the code(s) you are attempting to redeem were produced prior to 2014, and per the program rules, “product codes that were produced prior to 2014 are not valid for use in the Program". While we cannot credit your account for the expired code(s), we’re happy to provide goodwill points as a one-time gesture. Please call 866-674-2653 anytime between 9 a.m.–7p.m. EST Monday through Friday. Select your language, press 1 to "find out how MCR works" and 0 to reach an agent.
