Need help for MCR School Coordinators -- Why weren't we notified of the shut down?

Well, I should have just checked facebook first, I guess! I am SO glad to see that I am not the only school volunteer who is having a difficult time understanding this MCR change. I am a parent volunteer and have been assisting our MCR School Coordinator enter codes under her log-in information and suddenly I could no longer access the site. Our coordinator did not even know this change was coming. We have thousands of points banked for our school and I read that we are supposed to be able to see them and use them. I can't find them. Our teachers have requested another order of supplies and neither of us can figure out how to do this for them. I'm totally in the dark on this. I made a kula.com account but find that site very frustrating as there is a missing link between MCR and kula.com. I have BIG boxes of MCR codes to enter. Being limited to 75 points a week through a personal account defeats the purpose as a school fundraiser as that is only 25 caps a week. I have been asked to become the school coordinator, and would like to figure this out so that I can talk with teachers and administrators. I need to be able to explain this change to our school administrators when kula.com is asking for the school's EFT and banking information that I am not privy to. The MCR program was so simple -- a no-brainer, so to speak. But, now I am scrambling to pick up the pieces and understand what to do next. (Which may be a sign that it is time to move on to another school fundraiser?)

They did notify us of the change... they just didn't give us any details. They only said a new exciting program was coming... I don't think it's fun or exciting. My school also has thousands of caps I don't know how to enter them I shouldn't have to use my personal account. I have sent several messages to MCR but have yet to hear from them. Let me know if you hear anything.

Thanks, Maria! Kula responded quickly but said they forwarded my email to MCR. Kula could not answer any of my questions. And I haven't heard anything from MCR either. Maybe we will hear something soon.

Hi Andrea, all school coordinators received an email prior to the change letting them know that the MCR for Schools' Rewards Catalog would no longer be available as of 1/20/15. In the new MCR for Schools program, there will not be a school coordinator role. This will allow schools without an assigned administrator to receive funds from this program. We want to assure you that all points in these accounts will be transferred to your school's account shortly.

We understand your concern and appreciate your feedback. Our goal is to have more funds than ever available for our community's schools. We will continue to work to make it easier for the community to donate codes and cash directly to their schools. The ability to only donate from a personal account is temporary. We will continue to work to make it easier for the community to donate codes and cash directly to their schools instead of through personal points.

A physical check will be mailed directly to the official school address if you chose school does not to provide electronic banking information. If you need any further information on changing or adding banking information, please contact Kula customer service at support@kula.com.

For information on how school supporters can donate their points or cash, please visit CokeURL.com/SchoolFAQ

Glad to know that I'm not the only person / coordinator who is not getting responses back from Coke. Get Satisfaction .com surely seems to be a poor choice for Coke's customer service site. About as ironic as their current ad campaign, Open Happiness.

And for the record, coordinators were told of the new and exciting program that was coming but we were only told that it would be going to all cash payouts as of 1/20/2015 and that if you wanted anything from the catalog, to order it by then. There was nothing regarding dropping the School Coordinator, the slashing of points that could be entered, nothing warning Coordinators to get their codes entered now because if not now, never. Nor that the cash that we can earn each month was a whopping $7.58-ish a month because we now have to use personal MCR accounts to enter and donate a piddly 75 points per week. Let's not forget too that it was not communicated that whatever questions or concerns we have, Coke will further insult you either by tossing out automated, non-informational responses or simply ignoring the member. You should have informed the Coordinators that we had 3 months to enter in the 1000's of codes the parents have sent in and then dropped the program for schools altogether. At least the kids would receive all that they have worked for by collecting the caps and codes. That would be the right thing to do instead of what it's become, a desperate attempt at a social media grab with no benefits to those providing the labor. For shame, Coke. Why not make this right and let the Coordinators do what they do best - helping the school get cash by keying in codes. You won't get any social media benefits from it, you'll just be helping out the most deserving - the children.
