Older Coke product caps no longer work? | My Coke Rewards Customer Community

I have a lot of older caps. When I tried to enter in some, I got an error saying the code was invalid. I entered them in exactly as typed on the cap and tried about 8-10 different caps. All the same thing. This seems to of started after the site redesign because before that I was able to enter older caps no problem. What happened?

Hi Ryan, do these older caps have 12- or 14-digits?
Due to the popularity of our program, we made the transition from 12-digit codes to 14-digit codes to ensure we have a steady supply of codes for you, our loyal members. We apologize for any inconvenience, but 12-digit codes are no longer accepted as of 8/1/2014.

These are 12 digit codes. Why would you stop supporting them? There is no reason not to accept the older codes along with the newer 14 digit codes. I have a rather large amount of these caps collected from family members and friends and don't recall any notification that Coke was going to stop accepting these. Was an email sent?
