Something went wrong code followed by the code has already been used.....???

Why is it that when I enter codes off a 24 pack of Mello Yello I get a message ooopppps something went wrong. then I reenter the code and it tells me that the code has already been used!? This has happened at least twice and I do not get the points. Frustrating!!
