Globe Broadband Wireless HSDPA Coverage Areas

  • Question
  • Updated 2 years ago
This place has been included in the list of areas (posted on GBB Tattoo webpage) with HSDPA coverage, so i've bought this Tattoo Kit expecting this will get a good connection.....but what the heck.....what i get is only GPRS signal with speeds that can't even match a 90's 56kbps dial-up connection.......hey what's the deal???

Hi Paribas. May we know the exact address and your Tattoo number so we can verify coverage and check provisioning of your SIM (for internet service)? You may email the details to custhelp@globetel.com.ph for your security. you may also try to procedure below to check availability of 3g signal:
1. Attach the device to your computer
2. Make sure that you are not connected to the internet
3. Go to the tools, select settings and then network
4. Select the “3G or WCDMA only” option
5. You may then start connecting to the Internet

honestly i got angry with that experience of mine upon knowing that this Tattoo kit i had bought all the way from Davao City, thinking that this would get satisfactory if not excellent connection here in Bislig City as per claims on the GBB Tattoo website that this place is already included in the HSDPA covered areas.....but getting only GPRS signal was a like a life in hell due to the nature of my trade. But that life in hell situation was relieved when a day ago upon restoring the default settings (3G/WCDMA only) i was surprised to see that WCDMA signal although a very faint one i think, was detected....this was further confirmed from people in the local scene that what they saw were Globe personnel they thought, still in the process of installing something in the cellsite facilities in this place.....pretty sure it was a very encouraging to know that this little city will at least get another break in terms of technological advancements to make it at least in pace with the rest of the world....today the WCDMA signal though sometimes it would just disappear but at least it keeps on getting stronger......just one question will be left unanswered: will this place be included in the GBB Wimax roll-out areas? coz really no matter what place or trying different configurations nor getting just meters beside any Globe/TM cellsite this Tattoo connection is just damn too slow.

to GBB/Innove....keep up the good work.....but next time at least please make it an accurate, up-to-date and honest to goodness delivery of services....

what i did was just prayed.....and honestly i did not cursed GBB for posting such false claims and promotion on their site.....pretty sure it was answered or maybe just a struck of luck when such HSDPA coverage came to reality

Hi. We have taken note of your comments/feedback. We cannot guarantee that maximum speed is available in all 3G locations since the signal’s coverage also has limitations like terrain of the area and the speed is also affected by the number of users. Currently, not all areas are covered by 3G signal, but Globe is continuously expanding the coverage. We also do not have information about the Specific plans for wi-max roll-out. Such information is confidential while at planning stage.Kindly wait for announcements. Thank you.

Please include Taytay, Palawan in your future HSDPA installations. (I hope that will be very soon). It's so frustrating that its neighboring municipalities have already HSDPA, while we don't have it here. I bought Globe Mobile Broadhand hoping that it will give me better internet access since its cell site is just few blocks from us. Unfortunately, the super slow GPRS can't give me what i want. Neither does it help even for checking mails. It's just a miracle that i was able to post complaints in the web now, one in YOUniverse, and another here. I really pray that you provide some remedies to this. I think a lot have similar predicaments and issues. Besides, this is an opportunity to show how you can be more competitive than the other network.

It's true that globe gives a slower connection like a GPRS connection. I purchased my Globe Tattoo Prepaid Kit last september. During that time I was really happy that my family could have a faster broadband connection. The first two months was good; having an HSDPA connection, true, in which I even loaded my tattoo number with bigger denominations of prepaid load. The next three months was awful when I continued loading an amount of 300 pesos. The connection was only GPRS. So I started buying a lower amount of prepaid load because I was dissatisfied of what Globe was giving now. I thought HSDPA sticks could give a better signal especially in Zamboanga when I discovered it on the net that the area has HSDPA connection. I even tried following the steps to find HSDPA signal by changing my settings to WCDMA only. I am not happy anymore with what they say in their ads. Especially when they have a good start but don't have a continuous good service.

I used to enjoy Globe Tattoo by surfing and downloading. But now, I can't connect to HSDPA, it's only GPRS connection, too slow! What's the problem? When I switched the setting to "WCDMA only", there's no signal at all. Only when I switch back to GPRS only.. I'm so upset to GLobe Tattoo..

i was encouraged to switch to Tatto Superstick because of the promise of 5 to 7 Mbps. that would be a big leap from my DSL subscription of 512kbps. but to my disappointment, I cannot even get a decent stable 1Mbps download speed. and i am located here in Makati! signal is always switching from HSDPA to UMTS and the customer service representatives look like have no idea on what to tell their client.

are you hearing this, Globe?
