Help with cooking

When we request help from friends for cooking or vice versa, how much time does it shave off the remaining cooking time? Does the time saved also depend on the menu item? Just wondering...

  • Hi Tara,

every help you get from friends reduces a certain percentage of minutes you have for cooking, but that depends on the type of food.

  • Thanks Nina,
Are you able to give me an example, ie. one each for a food item which takes a short amount of time to cook and one which takes a few hours. Your help would be appreciated.

  • Apologies, I have another related question ... I realise that we can request help from our neighbours with cooking and that we can only do so once every 24 hours per appliance.

Does this still apply when friends pop into our restaurant and help with cooking. That is, if one friend has helped on an appliance and another friend visits and helps on that same appliance (within the same 24 hour period), does it only register once, or does each assistance offer a reduction in cooking time?

    Thanks for your help.
    • Hi Tara,
It'll be interesting to hear the answer you receive as far as the actual amount of cooking time reduced each time someone helps you cook. In regard to the number of times being helped, I may be able to offer some clarification. You can actually request a friend to help you on any appliance once (1 time) every 2 (two) hours not every 24 hours. If a friend visits your restaurant & stirs a pot, so to speak, that doesn't count towards the number of times you can personally request that friend or any other friend to help on that same appliance. As you already understand, the more times someone helps you on a particular dish/appliance the faster it'll cook/complete.

Also keep in mind that you're requesting help once every 2 hours per appliance, not every dish. Therefore, if you complete 1 dish & then start another on the same appliance you'd have to wait until the remainder of the 2 hours has elapsed before you can request a friend's help on that appliance again. However, friends that pop in for a visit can still help you with that appliance at any time. Please also keep in mind that because you're requesting help on an appliance rather than a dish, in the event your dish completes before your friend answers your request they'll help with whatever dish is placed on that particular appliance at the time they visit to answer your request. Hopefully that information helps rather than causing more confusion. Hope to see you around Town. (NanobitID-TheHoss)

***I'll also be awaiting an answer from the Support Staff regarding your cooking time portion of the question.
    • Thank you S. Smith,
I appreciate your help. I just realised I was getting my help/gifting timings confused. Every little bit helps towards reaching our cooking goals.

Support, I also look forward to your advice in relation to the requested examples. Many thanks.

  • Support Staff,

Were there ever any more detailed answers you could provide such as examples as previously requested? A bit more accurate information may be more useful when planning out menu items to be cooked. So far I've noticed that 1 help from 1 friend can reduce cooking time by 15-30 minutes. Obviously, the more friends that come along to "stir the pot" the faster the dish is complete. Yet, still no real way of knowing how many friends would be needed to help cook those longer dishes that take 24-48 hours only being able to request help every 2 hours per appliance. More details on this topic would be helpful. Thanks.
