I’m Feeling like I wasn't treated fairly at all. Also very frustrated.

My new stove grew legs, went in to my storage bin and locked himself up! Is there any other way this could have happened?.

After I completed some quests for my chief chef, Alphonse, he said we needed an extra appliance in our restaurant. He said he heard there were a few left but I better hurry and get one before they were all gone.

With those instructions I immediately went to buy my extra stove. I was 2 levels before the next unlock fee. I used the last of my gems, paid the 37 gems for the early unlock fee and bought my extra appliance as instructed. I was really looking forward to the next timed quest but things went downhill from there.

The timed quest started the next day and my oven was missing. i spent a lot of valuable time hunting for it on my sites...ground floor and first floor andd no oven was to be found. Finally found it in my storage bin. I was so happy and then to my dismay it was locked.

I feel very strongly that either my appliance should be unlocked or my gems should be refunded. Gems are very hard to earn, and i feel i have not been treated fairly.

My nexy question is regarding Bakery Town. The owner's daughter told me to go get any appliance I wanted. Is the same thing going to happen there? I am one otr two levels below the regiular unlock fee. Their early unlock fee is 48 gems, which I do not have. What do you advise me to do?

    It's good to see you're still enjoying the game. I'd be glad to share my opinion with you. However, I can only speak of my experiences with Restaurant Town as I only played the other game very briefly. I can say that the idea of unlocking an "extra" appliance can be very misleading. The best way I can explain it is similar to when you buy chips or soda from a vending machine, in that you pay to remove an item from a "locked" slot. Once you remove it you can't put it back & expect to keep getting another without paying again. Therefore, once you pay the Gems to "unlock" the appliance you have to keep ALL appliances out on the restaurant floor & level they are on. Once you put the appliance back into storage you basically lock it up again & can't get another back out unless you pay Gems to unlock a slot again. Similar to not being able to keep removing bags of chips or cans of soda from a vending machine without paying each time you remove them.

    The only way to truly unlock an appliance is to reach the level needed in order to actually "own" the slot that appliance will hold in your restaurant. Then you can move it around as you wish. Paying Gems to "unlock" the appliance only makes the slot/appliance available to you while you keep every appliance out on the restaurant floor without putting anything back into storage. The easiest way to remember that is to make sure you have the number of grills, stoves & ovens out on the restaurant floor you plan to use for the entire time until you reach the proper level to truly own an additional appliance slot. Otherwise, if you try to swap any out you'll lose the appliance you paid Gems to put in your restaurant. I hope that all makes sense to you because the whole thing can be confusing at 1st. There are a lot of folks that make the same mistake of putting an appliance in storage after paying to unlock one & wonder why they can't get one back out. If that information doesn't help you just reply back & perhaps a staff member can give a better explanation. Take care & cook to your heart's content. ;-)(NanobitID-TheHoss)

  • Thanks so much for your reply Hoss. Not sure that I explained myself correctly. I was told to purchaset this extra stove. I did not put the stove into storage. Nanobit did. I put my appliances in storage when I change the layout of my restaurant and they do not lock up on me. I still think they either owe me the gems I paid to unlock when i was told to go get another stove and also give me the coins I paid for the stove or they need to unlock my stove. If I have to purchase this stove again I am going to bevery upset. also, I hope they don't count this stove as the appliance I will be getting on the next unlock for everybody. I should end up with one extra appliance thAt they told me to get.

      It seems that you're saying the challenge instructed you to buy an appliance but it wasn't time for you to be able to have one yet at your level. Therefore, you had to spend gems in order to unlock the appliance. Once you unlocked the appliance it somehow wound up in your storage area & locked. I apologize but I don't recall the specific details of all of the challenges from the Chef so input on that part is limited. However, I can tell you that from the way I understand the unlock process works, if at any point you placed any appliance into storage after paying Gems to unlock one the slot will lock up again. That includes any appliance you already had in your restaurant before you bought the "extra" appliance. As far as I understand there is no real way to ever have an "extra" appliance slot. You simply borrow an appliance slot because when you level up that appliance becomes part of your allotted appliance slots for the level.

      As far as the instructions of the challenge you were working on & how the appliance became locked in your storage, it'd be best for you to discuss that with one of the actual Staff members. They'd be better able to look into that & determine what needs to happen in order to have everything where it needs to be in your game. If you don't get an answer within the next day or so you may want to email them at support@nanobitsoftware.com. That way you can give the full break down of what happened during & after the Chef's challenge for them to research it for you. It's unfortunate all of this confusion has happened during your game play. Hopefully you can get some answers that will help you feel better about the situation.     The rules suck! I feel once someone purchases something they should be able to do WHATEVER they want with the appliances. And if I had spent real money to purchase a game appliance only to be unable to use it I would be howling mad. I'm sorta addicted to restaurant town but I've had my share of unfair events happen. Like finally getting the 35 gems needed to unlock a third level only to discover now the game wants you to have 90 or the time for two days when I couldn't get ANY points to help others cook, or the time that I'm still going through where the offer wall will not allow me to earn at least one gym each day. Or how bout right this second the way I'm stuck inside someone else's restaurant and can't return to my own? Toooooo many glitches!
