CD Printing with EPSON XP 630

Old Printer dead, new one not in given list of nero cover designer.
Also I got no idea about the (for me) awesome strange logic creating a user-paper-Profile. How are X and Y numbers calculated for instance. How can I enter the size of the cd tray and from where to where has it to be measured??

Please advice or better, tell me correct entries

Abigail

  • I see a printer tray #1 or #2. Do you have either of those.

Unfortunately, if you don't have the .dat file for your printer, you have to create a new template. It will be trial and error.

  • Thanks for your answer, but......
the print does not use tray 1 or 2. There is a plastic carrier for direct printing of CDs.
Try and error is not so good, because Printer will just print into the void, means anywhere inside the Printer, if measurements are out of range.

  • I'm confused by "direct printing of CDs." I did a search and came up with this which uses the Epsom software for printing to the CD/DVD (this is for a different printer than you -

This is for a different printer than you have but all of the examples I found use the Epsom software for this purpose. I assume you're using CoverDesigner to design the label. As I mentioned, if you don't have the ".dat" file for your printer, you would need to use a "user defined paper stock (I incorrectly said template).

In that case, you would select File\Paper Stocks and select User Defined Paper Stocks. Then select "Add Stock" and click on okay. It will create Stock 1. Open Stock 1 and click on Add Item. Select Disc. Click on Disc under Stock 1. You can then specify the size of the disc and the postion for the label. That is where trial and error comes in. I recognize that this is primarily aimed at printing paper labels on your printer. I don't know if the postioning on a piece of paper corresponds with the positioning in the special tray that you use. I don't know if you can use the same disc over and over for trial purposes.
